Raymond Central Public Schools
March 2025
From the Desk of the Superintendent...
Dear Raymond Central Community,
We have enjoyed a successful winter, with our students excelling in academics, fine arts, and
athletics. As we approach the spring season, we invite you to come support and witness our
students in action. A full schedule of events is available on our website, so be sure to check it
out.
Additionally, we are making significant progress with the implementation of grade-level
reconfiguration at the elementary schools. I would like to take a moment to provide you with a
recap and update on our efforts, along with key information from the February Board of
Education Meeting.
Grade-Level Reconfiguration Timeline & Update:
December:
The Raymond Central Board of Education approved, with a 5-1 vote, the reorganization
of grade levels to reduce class sizes.
Starting in the 2025-26 school year, Kindergarten through 2nd grade will attend
Raymond Central Primary School in Ceresco, while 3rd through 5th grades will be
housed at Raymond Central Intermediate School in Valparaiso.
January:
All necessary staff positions to support smaller class sizes have been filled.
Teacher assignments have been finalized.
The administrative team is working diligently to finalize the logistics for relocating
teachers to their new classrooms.
February:
Elementary students will be dismissed two days earlier than the rest of the district for
summer break to allow teachers time to pack and prepare their classrooms.
School start and end times will remain unchanged. However, we will provide supervision
for students starting at 7:45 AM before school and extending until 3:30 PM after school.
This schedule will accommodate normal bus routes and offer flexibility for parents who
wish to drive their children to school.
Student placements will be based on educational needs and district goals. Please note that
parents will not be able to request specific teachers.
Elementary administration is planning a transition day for students later this spring to
help them acclimate to their new grade configurations.
February Board of Education Meeting:
After the February Board of Education meeting, a question was raised regarding the partnership
between the Raymond Central Community Foundation and the More Than a Field project. To
clarify: the Raymond Central School District has authorized a broker to explore lease-purchase
options in collaboration with the RC Community Foundation. Importantly, any funds accessed
through this lease-purchase agreement must be supported by financial pledges to the Foundation.
Any use of these funds will require approval from the Raymond Central Board of Education,
with proof of the pledged funds. The payments on the lease purchase will be made by the RC
Community Foundation.
If you have any questions regarding the More Than a Field project, please reach out to Bryon
Hanson at 402-785-2615 or Tony Kobza at 402-785-2685.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of the Raymond Central School District.

District Health Information: Fall and Winter Virus Season is Here!
The viral season is upon us. There are many different viruses circulating around as usual this time of year. Some tips to stay healthy and keep each other healthy are hand Washing, getting rest, drinking fluids and staying home when ill. If your child has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, stay home. If your child has vomited, has stomach pains, or loose stools in the last day, stay home. Let's enjoy the Holidays and our time at home by keeping ourselves and each other healthy! Please do not hesitate to reach out to the School Nurse Amanda Ehlers with anything.
