What a beautiful weather weekend! If it got you in the mood to do some spring cleaning, please think of us as you are getting rid of any children's' books. See information below about our gently used books for our book drive. We are also doing a toy drive (new toys) for children with cancer. Please see more information below. Carpenter Ambassadors' Toy Drive
We are excited to announce our Toy Drive in support of Zach's Toy Chest, running from March 24th through April 9th!
Zach's Toy Chest is an amazing organization that provides new toys to children with cancer bringing joy and comfort during difficult times.
We are kindly asking for donations of new toys only. Be sure to check out the flyer below for a list of our fun themed days to get students excited to support this great cause.

Single Subject Acceleration (SSA)
On February 17, we had a meeting for parents interested in their student testing for SSA. Here is a copy of the presentation that was shared from the county:

All test request windows will open at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on the first day of the test request window and close at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the last day of the request window.
Requests to test will not be processed after the window closes.

25-26 School Year
We are already starting to plan for next school year. As we start making these plans, it helps us to know if your family is moving or going to another school next year.

Attend the WCPSS Family & Community Engagement Summit
Join us for the Family and Community Engagement Summit on Saturday, April 26, from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM at The Summit at Capital Hills. The summit will feature a keynote speaker, breakout sessions, and more. All staff, families, and community members are invited to attend. Registrants for the Summit are invited to attend the Kick-Off event at Marbles Kids Museum on April 25 from 6-8 PM.

🍎 Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Information 🍎
We are having a book drive for WAKE Up and Read. Read all about it below! March 17-March 30
WAKE Up and Read is a community coalition of 30+ agencies in Wake County committed to ensuring that ALL children across Wake County read proficiently by the end of 3rd grade. As the local affiliate of the National Campaign for Grade Level Reading, we focus on three key areas: school readiness (birth-5), learning opportunities (K-5), and engaged families.
We are collecting:
New or gently-read books for babies & children up to age 12 ● Books that reflect the diversity of our community ● Books that children and families will be proud to own
Career Day!
We are excited to host Career Day for our 3rd-5th grade students on April 23, 2025. Please consider helping CES support our students' career awareness by volunteering your time to speak about your job/career - representation from all professions (traditional and non-traditional).
Presentations will be approximately 10 minutes long, and we will provide guidance for all those interested in participating in early April as we will coordinate the event based on volunteer availability.

Charitable Chameleons
As part of our Charitable Chameleons Sign-up/Buy-in fundraising effort our families have enjoyed Painting Parent/Student Portraits with Mr. Hann, Cheer Club, Spirit Squad, Knight for a Princess special dance for daughters , and Sons +1 Game Night - thank you to the generous sponsorship from our school staff, PTA, and families for bringing these exciting opportunities to our students. Remaining events and sign-ups are open through April, these are wonderful opportunities to connect with other Chameleon families in fun and unique ways! Our Science Expo is THIS THURSDAY at 5:30. We have about 60 student participants! Can't wait to see all of our Carpenter Scientists demonstrate their skills!
