BFH Falcons' View
May 13 to 17, 2024

Principal's Message,
Dear Falcon students and families,
I hope you all had an excellent Mother's Day weekend and were able to get outside to enjoy some sun (despite the smoke) and honour those amazing women who do so much for our families! This past week saw our AP students complete the first round of AP exams, and our students were involved in numerous trips and activities. Some of our students attended the SKILLS competition along with other students from EIPS, and our Soccer teams had an incredible week continuing their winning streaks. I also would like to congratulate our amazing competitors who competed at the SKILLS competition this past week
We will be hosting our monthly Bev Facey School Council meeting this Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the library, and I would like to invite any interested parents to join us. It should also be noted that our Bev Facey Musical theatre students have been working exceptionally hard on their production of "GREASE". The show is shaping up to be an amazing experience and I want to encourage everyone to come out and support this incredible show at Festival Place during the week of May 20 to 23. Tickets can be purchased through the Box office at Festival Place.
A number of our Bev Facey Awards and Scholarships are available to our grade twelve students to help with their post secondary plans. We have been highlighting the upcoming deadline of May 14 for the last few weeks and I would encourage all our graduating students to peruse the information in the article below.
I also would like to encourage parents to get involved with our amazing school council's staff recognition initiative, coming up on June 5, 2024. They are planning a barbecue for staff at the school as a gesture of appreciation. Please check out the information on how to get involved by volunteering or contributing below.
I hope you all have an amazing week ahead and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Bev Facey School Council Staff Appreciation Event 2024
Dear Parents & Guardians,
On Wednesday June 5, 2024, Bev Facey School Council is hosting our Staff Appreciation event. This has historically been an annual event, and this year our school council will be continuing to do so. It's a great opportunity for our Facey families to recognize ALL staff for their work, care and dedication to our children, and we know that many families would like to contribute to the success of this event.
Historically, Staff Appreciation has included a luncheon of donated food items to be enjoyed at the final staff meeting of the school year. As well, in the past there have been donations of items used as door prizes. This year we are happy to report that we will be putting on a BBQ for the staff after the staff meeting on Wednesday, June 5.
We will be accepting monetary donations which Pam Smith (our School Council Staff Appreciation Leader) will use to purchase food items for the BBQ. If you are interested in making a donation, gift cards and monies will be gratefully accepted in the front office. If you place it in an envelope with your email address, I can send you an email confirmation of receipt of your donation. As well we can accept e-transfers to pammysmith94@gmail.com and send confirmation. Please make a note in your e-transfer that it is for Staff Appreciation and include your first and last name. Any questions please reach out to Pam Smith.
If you would like to be a part of this wonderful day and help volunteer or to work along side with Pam to learn the process, please email Pam Smith for more information on how you can help.
