Highlights for the week:

• Mrs. Shaw led all of our spring concerts!
• Kinder, 1st, and 2nd had a visit from Second Chance Ranch!
• 5th grade visited Chase and had a tour!
• Mrs. Lorimer led some classes through a glitter lesson about how our words and conversations can spread!
• Mrs. Huschke's 4th graders played Jeopardy! to practice math skills ahead of the state test!
• Mrs. Beal, Mrs. Stone, and Ms. Lael's students learned from a guest speaker about different minerals and gemstones, including how we use them in our every day life!

As our year inches closer to its finale, we begin looking to next school year and ways we can grow as a community, school, and district. • Remember to turn in your Family BBQ order form by Friday May 24th. See below for more info, and let your teacher know if you need a new order form.

• Please remember that students cannot arrive to school before 8 am. Breakfast is available in the cafeteria beginning at 8 am, and we have staff supervision for outdoor line-up starting at 8:15 am. We do not have staff to supervise students before 8 am.

• Remember to donate gently used clothes and shoes to our Blue Bin by the bike racks. These donations benefit many in our community that are served by the Northwest Center. If you are doing some spring cleaning, thinking of donating clothes from home, please consider donating to our blue bin!
  

• Moving and not returning next year? Please let the office know as soon as you know so we can accurately plan for classes and staffing next year!

• Please remember to notify the office of changes in dismissal plans as early as possible!

SPS will notify families in the coming days about yellow bus registration for the 2024-25 school year.

Bus registration is tentatively scheduled to open June 3. As a reminder, the School Board recently changed the middle school walk boundary to 1.25 miles. Previously, it was 1.5 miles.

Questions about yellow bus registration can be sent via this Let’s Talk portal.

Next Friday May 31st is our second to last schoolwide spirit day. The theme is Animal Day! Students can dress as animals, in their favorite animal print, etc. Please make sure that all outfits are appropriate for school and the learning environment, and do not cause a disruption to the learning of the individual child or others.

The Ferris women's basketball team is doing a youth basketball camp this summer for 2-5th graders, June 17th- June 20th from 12-2 PM. See the flyer below for information!

Thank you to Summer Beers for running the Prairie Dog Dash for the last 6 years. We are so grateful for all you have done for this fantastic event!

Final Prairie Dog Dash total = $27,618. WHOA! Pizza parties for classes who earned them will be in the afternoon on May 30th.
