Message from the Principal
JAJHS Families,
It’s hard to believe we’ve already reached the end of the first quarter! It has been such a privilege to watch our students and teachers work together for the first part of the school year. I’m proud of the way friendships have formed among many students and the hard work they are putting in each day. I’m proud of our teachers for continuing to plan and lead lessons that meet the needs of all of their students. We have a great building and I am so happy you and your family are a part of it!
As we move into second quarter, we have some big things coming up. Please review the newsletter below for important information. Additionally, please take time to review our 2nd Quarter Grade-Level Curriculum Newsletters that were also sent out today.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Ryan Malany
Principal

Great job to all of our student-athletes!

We will continue the fun tradition of our annual costume day on Friday, November 1st. Students are encouraged to wear a fun costume to school. In order to keep this tradition fun and positive, students have been told the following reminders:
Absolutely no weapons or look-alike weapons.
Please do not wear hair/face paint or masks.
November 1st will also be our culminating event for our JAJHS Pumpkin Drop. We hope the students will enjoy continuing this fun tradition.
Parent Teacher Conferences
It's time for Parent-Teacher Conferences. The Junior High will hold individual conferences on Wednesday, November 6th between 3-6 pm. If you have already received a request for a team conference please disregard. These scheduled conferences will be ten minutes long and with individual teachers. At this grade level, there is typically not a need to sign up for every one of your child’s teachers.
Please feel free to sign up for any teachers that you see a need to discuss your child’s progress. This link will show all teachers’ Google appointment links. When you click the link, please select the date November 6th and open appointments will be listed. If you ever have any questions about your child's academic performance, please do not hesitate to reach out to you child's teachers.
Printed Report Cards
As a reminder, printed 1st Quarter Report Cards will be sent home with students on Friday, November 8. Grades are always available online on Canvas.
Veterans Day - JAJHS Wall of Honor
Each year, the Junior High strives to recognize the service of JAJHS family members by creating a “Wall of Honor” as a part of our Veterans’ Day activities. If a member of your family is a veteran or in active service and you would like them to be recognized on this day, please complete this Google Form. If you would like to submit a photo of your family member(s) please email it to Megan Brar at brarme@japioneers.org. We are excited and honored to pay our respects to those who serve or have served our country!
8th Grade Washington, D.C. Trip - Scholarship Update
We want to continue to make our 8th Grade Washington, DC trip accessible to our 8th grade students and families. The scholarship application form is available for a few more days in the JAJHS office for students to complete and turn in as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Malany or Mrs. Lupia.

JA Choir Fundraiser
Hello all!
The choir department is selling Stoller Butter Braids for the next two weeks! These are wonderful for the holidays as they can be frozen and cooked for when you quickly need to feed a bunch of people. Students were all given order forms and had a taste-session of the famous Stoller Butter-Braids. The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise enough funds for new sound equipment for our students' and their concerts.
Sales end on Thursday, November 2nd.
You can check out the catalogue using the link below. If you are looking to purchase something, select a student name and purchase through them to give them credit towards big prizes!

Medications at School

When this is necessary, we require written permission and instructions from the parent and in some instances from the doctor. The required form must be completed and turned in to the junior high office with the medication to be administered.
