Happy Spring Break

Spring Break is next week! A reminder that KISD campuses and offices will be closed from March 13-17, 2023.
- Monday, March 20: Staff Returns
- Tuesday, March 21: Students Return
We hope everyone is able to enjoy a safe and restful break.
Current Student Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is now open online in Home Access Center. Parents/guardians are required to attach or turn in proof of residency to the front office. An updated immunization card will also be required for Kindergarten and 7th graders. If your student is eligible for transportation next year, you must request it at this time. KISD will provide specific routing information as the start of the school year in August approaches. The deadline to complete all forms is May 1, 2023. By completing these forms early KISD will be able to hire the appropriate staff and finalize schedules for students ahead of the new school year.
If your student will not be returning to Killeen ISD in August 2023, please select no during the registration process or complete a Student Withdrawal Request form at www.killeenisd.org/withdraw.
After Spring Break, each campus will have a registration kiosk available to assist parents who do not have access or need assistance with online registration.
Parents/guardians requesting a campus transfer for their student, can submit a request application here.

The Killeen Independent School District Board of Trustees selected JG Consulting to conduct the nationwide search for the next Superintendent of Schools based on several factors. JG Consulting utilizes innovative and expansive methods to engage communities in compiling information to create a district-specific superintendent profile. They have also shown the ability to bring forward multiple candidates in their searches that more than meet the wants and needs of their clients. Since 2015, they have placed 30 superintendents in school districts utilizing their team of 40 consultants.
“JG Consulting gives us a great opportunity to cast a wide net in recruiting potential candidates for the next Superintendent of Schools for Killeen Independent School District. Discovering a talent-rich pool of candidates that meet all the requirements of the position description in addition to having experience with our current challenges are the desired result of the search.”
The Board of Trustees will start work immediately with JG Consulting to finalize an agreement allowing them to commence the official search process. Once finalized, JG Consulting will work with the Board of Trustees to develop a framework detailing the components and timeline of the search process. Components will include student, employee, parent, trustee, and community engagement, recruitment updates/milestones, position description, marketing & recruitment, and review of applicants. The Board of Trustees will determine which candidates are considered for an interview and decide on the selection of a lone finalist.
The Killeen Independent School District will establish a presence on the district’s website to outline the entire process and provide updates to stakeholders according to designated milestones.
