Dear NBPS Families,
Earlier this morning, at approximately 7:45-7:50 AM, a faint burning smell was detected in a classroom in the middle school wing of North Brookfield High School. As a precaution, the fire department was called, and all NBHS students were safely evacuated to the NBES auditorium. Attendance was taken, and all students were accounted for.
The fire department has conducted an initial assessment, which indicates the smell was coming from a heating unit in a classroom. Following this assessment, the NBFD has deemed the building safe for use, and all students have returned to NBHS. Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily relocated middle school classes from their wing due to a slight remaining odor. Students will resume their classroom work immediately in their new locations.
