Welcome back, everyone!
We are very excited to start a new school year and we cannot wait to see what it holds. The CNP program is dedicated to supporting the Huntsville City Scools District and all of its goals and aspirations. This year, we plan to serve more meals than before, engaging our young people to provide the service they need. As we move forward to start this school year, we want to express our anticipation and unwavering commitment to making our school district the best in the country.

RD's healthful eating tips for fairgoers
State and county fairs offer lots of tempting treats along with some more healthful options including roasted corn that is light on butter and salt, grilled chicken breast or meat and vegetable kebobs, according to registered dietitian Jenny Lobb. But an occasional splurge is OK, Lobb says: "if you've been looking forward to a funnel cake for years, go ahead and enjoy it. Just be sensible."
Full Story: AGDAILY (7/30Study: Breakfast habits related to life satisfaction (monkeybusinessimages/Getty Images) A study conducted by research teams from England's Anglia Ruskin University and Mexico's Universidad de las Americas involving 150,000 children across 42 countries found a nearly linear relationship between regular breakfast consumption and higher life satisfaction, with daily breakfast eaters reporting the highest satisfaction scores. The researchers suggest that breakfast provides essential nutrients and energy for cognitive functioning and mood stability.
CDS tool boosts compliance with peanut allergy guidance A clinical decision support tool was associated with greater awareness of guidelines for introducing peanuts into infants' diets and significantly more frequent conversations with caregivers about the topic, according to a study in The Journal of Allergy & Clinical Immunology. The percentage of clinicians who said they always or sometimes discussed peanut introduction rose to 95.9% after the CDS tool was integrated, compared with 41.7% prior to the tool's use, but those conversations were less likely during visits with Spanish-speaking patients than with English speakers.
