The Cub Hub
The weekly newsletter for Bear Creek Elementary.
October 11, 20224
Dear Bear Creek Families,
To begin, I will ask for forgiveness if you are receiving the Cub Hub through multiple avenues. The District is implementing a new platform to email our parent community called Thrillshare. At this time, I am uncertain that all parent emails made the roll over. This week, I have contacted both AISD Help and Thrillshare Help. Neither have resolved this issue at this time. I was also told SchoolWide Messenger is no longer in use. However, my log in worked. So we will see if that can send this information out today. Hopefully, by next Friday, this process will once again be streamlined. I appreciate you looking out for your neighbor and assuring that they receive this communication.
Veterans Day is November 11th. Bear Creek would like to recognize all who have served. Below this welcome message is a PDF for you and your Cub to complete. Parents, Grandparents, Cousins, Aunts/Uncles - all are welcomed to our display. You may print and complete as many as you would like to display. Please have your Cub send the recognition page to campus by October 28th.
Looking Ahead:
October 14th - Student Holiday (parent conference day)
October 15th - School Pictures
October 18th - Wear Orange for Unity Day
October 31st - Fall Party Day and Costume Day
Remember - Costumes should not be scary or gory. Costume masks should not be worn. Medical masks are always allowed. No props or accessories should be brought. Cubs will still have recess and PE. So, it is best that they can still access their day without assistance.
See you Monday.
Sincerely,
Principal
Bear CREEK PTA

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month! Understanding dyslexia and how it affects learning is an important step in empowering our students and creating an inclusive learning environment. Dyslexia is a learning difference that affects the way the brain processes written language. It's not related to intelligence or lack of effort, but rather a neurobiological condition that makes reading, writing, and spelling more challenging. Dyslexia occurs in people of all backgrounds and often runs in families. At Bear Creek, we are committed to helping students thrive.
The tenth annual Central Texas Dyslexia Conference brings together researchers, parents, dyslexia therapists, teachers, related service providers, advocates, and other professionals to build understanding and application of improved support and services for students with dyslexia. This year’s conference will be virtual, on- demand, and as always FREE for educators, families, and professionals starting Wednesday, October 10, 2024- October 31, 2024.
