New Update from MDE
Q: If a student is marked homeless in August, but is then deemed to have suitable housing in January, when should we remove the homeless component?
A: If the student remains enrolled in the same district in January, no action should be taken. The student experienced homelessness during enrollment in the district.
If the student enrolled in a different district after obtaining stable housing, the new district will not submit the primary nighttime residence for the student since the student was stably housed throughout that enrollment. The district must ensure that their homeless liaison is in contact with the family, including the student, so that the student’s rights are protected, and eligible services are provided.Upcoming PD & Events
