Lubbock-Cooper Central Elementary

Central Elementary now has a 'buzz in' system for our front office and our front office door will now remain locked throughout the school day. The ONLY way our front office staff can let guests and visitors in is by activating the door after the button has been pushed. If you are visiting Central Elementary, you must push the button and wait to be let in. Below are some things to note about this new system:

- A school staff member will tell you through the speaker when the door is 'open' or 'unlocked'

- You may be asked to step back or show identification before being allowed inside

- Once unlocked, do not hold the door open for multiple parties

- If returning to school from an appointment or bringing your child to school after the tardy bell, an adult must accompany the child. Please do not send your child to the front door alone as they may be locked out and unable to communicate.

Don't forget our school is gearing up for the Battle of the Books, a fun and exciting event designed specifically for our 3rd - 5th grade elementary students! This year, students will dive into a selection of captivating books and participate in a variety of enjoyable activities and spirited reading challenges. This engaging and educational competition not only promotes a love for reading but also encourages teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity. We believe this will be a wonderful opportunity for our young readers to challenge themselves and share their enthusiasm for books. It’s a fantastic way for students to explore new stories and enjoy reading in a dynamic and interactive setting.

THIS YEAR IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUBMIT PHOTOS YOU HAVE FROM CENTRAL EVENTS PLEASE EMAIL THEM TO KHAND@LCISD.NET SO THEY CAN BE REVIEWED FOR POSSIBLE USE.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE STIPULATIONS LISTED BELOW BEFORE SUBMITTING PHOTOS FOR REVIEW:

1) PHOTO MUST BE CLEAR AND NOT PIXELATED

2) ALL CONTENT IN PHOTO MUST BE SCHOOL APPROPRIATE

3) ALL STUDENTS IN THE PHOTO MUST BE CENTRAL STUDENTS, NO OTHER SCHOOL

4) IF YOU HAVE PHOTOS FROM EXTRACURRICULAR EVENTS THAT CENTRAL STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN SUCH AS BASEBALL, BASKETBALL, CHEER ECT. IF ALL THE CHILDREN IN THE PHOTOS ARE CENTRAL STUDENTS THOSE CAN BE SUBMITTED AS WELL
