Next Year's Curriculum
Tonight we've invited all parents to come to the theater to find out about next year's curriculum and academic initiatives. Here's a copy of the slidedeck. Here's a peek at some of the highlights:
- Dual Enrollment: Next year we'll be offering the following college courses here at ND taught by ND teachers for only $12 per semester: Culinary Arts, Biology, Geology, Physics, Precalculus, Statistics, Calculus, English, and US History. We expect that many of our students will earn 18- 22 college credits next year, putting our juniors in position to earn a year of college credit while at ND!
- Immersion Week: In the first week of January, none of our students will be in regular classes. The seniors will be engaging in internships off campus, the juniors will be in a "College Bootcamp" where they will visit at least 4 schools (one community college, one private university, one CSU campus, and one UC campus), and the 9th & 10th graders will be on retreat, on field trips, and otherwise immersing in some in-depthy experiential learning.
- Service & Justice Class: The seniors will be taking a Service & Justice class this fall where every Thursday they will be engaged in actual service such as Dorothy's Place.
- STEM & STEAM seals: We'll be offering special seals on diplomas for students who take 9 years of math/science and 9 years of math/science and 2 years of VPA.
- We're offering new elective courses in orchestra, dance, drama, AP Drawing, and fitness.
There's a lot of new innovative curriculum. I hope you can join us for the meeting to understand how different Notre Dame is going to feel next year.

Academics/ Counseling
California students and families faced another year of delays in financial aid applications due to federal delays and necessary alignment. The delays impact families who depend on learning about financial aid resources early in the fall to make decisions on what college they can afford to send their student(s) to. As the 2025-26 financial aid application cycle officially opened on December 1, 2024, (two months later), students had less time to apply for financial aid. Due to these extenuating circumstances beyond their control, fewer students have completed financial aid applications in California. For more details, please view EOM 2025-04.
