Toy Story Dress Down Day | Eligible Students Only

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) observes Anti-Bullying Week annually the second week in November. This special week was created to raise awareness and provide opportunities for our schools and communities to enhance their bullying prevention efforts.
- World Kindness Day celebrates good deeds in the community, highlighting the powerful impact of kindness in helping each of us thrive.
- Kindness is a fundamental human quality that bridges divides across race, religion, politics, gender, and location.
Water Safety Presentation
Kindergarten and Grade 1 students are invited to a Water Safety presentation with Goldfish Swim School on November 14 at 8:30 am in the cafeteria. Students will learn essential water safety skills and practices to stay safe around water!

On "GO BLUE DAY," Friday November 15, 2024, students are invited to wear a BLUE TOP with their UNIFORM BOTTOMS, to show they will “be the 1 to be a ‘true-BLUE’” friend and stop bullying for someone in need.

As colder weather is expected this season, we want to remind everyone of our uniform policy to ensure students stay warm while adhering to our dress code.
Here are a few options for chilly weather:
- Students may wear solid blue, black, or navy leggings under uniform shorts or skorts.
- Franklin sweatpants are permitted for PE.
- Solid-color long-sleeve shirts can be worn under the uniform polo.
- Only Franklin-branded outerwear is allowed.
Please plan accordingly to help your child stay comfortable while remaining in uniform compliance. We appreciate your support in maintaining our school’s standards.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and let’s all stay warm during our cooler spells.

- Elementary students that stay informed, are cooperative, and respect authority are showing the Character Counts! pillar of citizenship.
- Those students do their share to make their home, school, and community better by obeying laws and rules.
- Those elementary citizens understand the importance of protecting the environment, being a good neighbor, and voting in elections.
MYP IB Learner Attribute Risk-takers: “I like to try new things and ideas.”
- MYP students that approach unfamiliar situations, and uncertainty, with courage and forethought are recognized as risk-takers.
- Those risk-taking students have the independence of spirit to explore new roles, ideas, and strategies.
- Those MYP students are brave and articulate in defending their beliefs.
Character Counts Assembly
Only invited families should attend to see their child(ren) presented with their award for showing their citizenhship or for being a risk-taker.

The 2024-2025 Franklin Story Yearbook is still available for pre-sale! Families can secure their copy online, with the final purchase deadline of January 31, 2025—no yearbooks will be sold after this date.
- On Friday November 1, 2024, eligible members of our Concert Choir went on a field trip for a Disney Workshop!
- Eligible Grade 1 students are scheduled to attend a field trip to the Old Davie Schoolhouse on (either) Tuesday November 12 and Wednesday November 13, 2024!
- Students in our Gifted program will enjoy a field trip to the Frost Museum on Wednesday November 20, 2024!
Classes will resume on Monday, December 2, 2024. Our offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, 2024.
Office assistance will resume during regular hours after the Fall/Thanksgiving Break, when classes resume for students.
