Employment
The Board approved a contract addendum for Veda Mascarenas, Part-time Reading Teacher, and a Memorandum of Employment for Arturo Ochoa, Custodian. Also approved for Substitutes were Christina Longoria, Jill Francis, and Cristian Venzor. The following for extra duty pay agreements for the 2023-2024 school year: Kacie Cobb, ELL Director, Jesse Entz, Junior High Girls Basketball Assistant Coach, Amber Price, Junior High Assistant Track Coach, and Eduardo Gonzalez, Junior High Baseball Coach.
FY 2024- 2025 District Calendar
Approval was given to the fiscal year 2024-2025 District Calendar. The first day of classes is August 13th (and 14th for elementary students for a staggered start). School breaks will be 11/25-11/28 for Thanksgiving Vacation, 12/23-1/3 for Christmas Vacation, and 3/17-3/20 for Spring Break. The last day of school will be May 22, 2025. Graduation for the class of 2025 will be May 23, 2025.

The Board undeclared Bus #8 as surplus and approved Myers Brothers Truck & Tractor to rebuild the engine for $22,421.00. The Board also approved the purchase of a mini bus from Master's Transportation for $63,475.00.

SARGENT FFA LDE RESULTS
Sargent FFA took a group of students to participate in the District IV Leadership Development Event contests at Adams State University on February 14th, 2024. District IV is made up of Sargent, Sangre De Cristo, Monte Vista, Centauri, Alamosa, Sanford, and La Veta FFA Chapters. Leadership Development Events (LDE's) consist of a variety of contests that allow students to demonstrate a variety of skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, and communication.
