Forest Park, IL — The Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Krish Mohip as the new Superintendent of Schools, effective December 2, 2024. This decision follows several thorough attempts at a search process aimed at finding a leader who is committed to the educational success and growth of our students and community.

Krish Mohip brings 25 years of educational leadership experience, having previously served public education in the roles of teacher, assistant principal, principal, Chief of Schools for the Chicago Public Schools, and as a CEO for the Youngstown City Schools. He also has served in state level leadership, working at the Illinois State Board of Education in the roles of Deputy Chief Education Officer, Chief Education Officer, and Interim State Superintendent. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, improving academic performance, and enhancing community engagement.

Krish Mohip expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to serve the Proviso community. "I am honored to be selected as the Superintendent of Proviso Township High Schools District 209," he stated. "I look forward to collaborating with our talented educators, staff, students, and community members to ensure that every student has the resources and support they need to thrive. I am grateful to the Board of Education for trusting me with the humbling responsibility of leading the important work of improving the educational experiences for all students that we are lucky enough to educate. I know by working together, great things are possible for the students and families of this incredible community.
