Principal Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This 4 day week began with a School Advisory Council Meeting. The council voted to approve the operating procedures, which was the last step in the re-formation of the Wildwood School Council. Some additional hot lunch and pancake breakfast dates were decided upon. In addition we reviewed a draft version of the Schools Continuous Improvement Plan for 2024/25, including our school focus on math. Over the next few weeks I will be including a regular section that focuses on the data and work the school is doing focused on this goal, please see below. The School Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at 3:45, and all members of our school community are invited to attend.
On Wednesday the school hosted a picnic lunch and invited parents to join their students, this will be a regular aspect of our monthly picnic lunches moving forward.
On Wednesday night the GYPSD Board of Trustees hosted a digital meeting of the Council of School Councils. Our School Advisory Council executive joined me at the school and provided input into the priorities the board should be considering when looking for a new Superintendent.
Next week, on Tuesday the 19th, we have our monthly hot lunch sponsored by DRAX in Entwistle, this month is being provided by Subway. Student retakes, or photos for those who missed are scheduled for Wednesday. On Thursday our 5/6 class will be going on a field trip to the Legislature Building as a tie-in to their learning about government and Canada, if you need a copy of the permission slip it is linked below.
A reminder as the weather turns cold that students should be dressed accordingly. Students also require a designated set of inside shoes to keep our school dry and clean.
If you have any questions or concerns you can always reach out to the school through the office or email me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca.
Sincerely,
Alan Stoyles
Principal
