(P/G) Booster Meeting - Thursday, September 5

• Open to all parents/guardians.
• Held in the choir room -- enter from the back door.
  

(MB) Rehearsal - Saturday, September 7

• 9am-1pm
• We are on turf this day -- we will learn A LOT this day.
  

(SB/JB1/PE) Music Department Parent Meeting - Spring Music Tour Details - Tuesday, September 10

• Change from the August 27th date.
  
• For all families that have students attending the Spring Music Tour to California in April 2025.
• 6pm-7pm in the MVHS Auditorium

(MB) First Home Game vs Rocky Mountain - Friday, September 13

• Food served at 4:30pm
  
• Call time is 5:00pm
• Game ends by 10pm
  

(MB) Home Game vs Kuna (Homecoming and 8th Grade Invitational) - Friday, September 20

• Call time is 3:25pm
• Food served at 3:30pm
• Into uniforms at 4:00pm
• Loading buses at 4:30pm
  
• We are not participating in the homecoming parade this year. We have been asked by the District to perform at the Kendall Grand Opening (District Sponsor)
  
• Call time for 8th graders is 6:00pm.
• Game ends by 10pm

(MB) West Ada Marching Band Clinic and Competition - Saturday, September 28

• ALL DAY at Mountain View
  
• All marching band students will be helping run the event throughout the day as well as participate in the clinic and perform in the event.

We are $9000 away from reaching our ultimate goal for the season. These fundraisers helps benefit our students in being able to offer the best instruction in the Treasure Valley. It doesn't only help them for the season, but gives them tools and knowledge that they will be able to take into the rest of the school year and the rest of their musical careers (as a professional or as a community member). Every bit helps whether you are donating or sharing our fundraiser information!

99Pledges Fall Fundraiser

• Our first concession is on Thursday, September 5th -- sign up HERE.
• We need a minimum of two adults that run the concessions.

Boise State Concessions

• Our band boosters have been working a lot to get money to help fund ALL of our band students. Please consider volunteering for a concession date!

We are opening our jacket orders sooner this year. This is open to all students and parents/guardians. All details regarding pricing, due dates, and sizing can be found in the form.

Below, you will find the due dates for all fees (season member fee and trip fees). These can paid all at once if desired. Families that have a current overdue balance will receive an email by Monday.

We are looking for chaperones to come with us on our two trips -- Utah (2-nights) and Burley (day trip).

Please fill out our form by clicking HERE. We will be prioritizing having an even amount of male and female chaperones. Duties include supervising students, room checks, helping serve food, and moving equipment for the competition.

We have a big trip planned for 2025 going down to California!

Our current dates are set for Wednesday, April 2 through Sunday, April 6, 2025.

This will include University visits (UNLV, Cal State Long Beach, and UCLA) as well as Disneyland/California Adventure, Medieval Times, and Universal Studios or a John Williams LA Philharmonic concert.

This trip is open only to Symphonic Band, Jazz I, and Percussion Ensemble students that are in the class year-round. Students joining any of the classes at 2nd semester will not be eligible for this trip. (Choir and Orchestra will also be joining us)

Current Trip Estimate: $850

The $50 deposit applies towards the current trip estimate.

Time Sensitive Action Items:

1. Complete the official commitment form by Friday, September 6 -- click HERE to access the form.

2. Pay the $50 deposit online on MySchoolFees or via cash/check. If you pay online, please email the receipt to Mr. Barro.

We hope to see you at our first meeting for the trip on Tuesday, September 10 at 6pm in the auditorium!

Student attendance is key to our progress as a marching band. Unlike any other team sport, there is NO bench for marching band. We cover a lot of important information and repetition in every rehearsal we have. Below are a list of absences that are excused vs unexcused.

Excused: Illnesses, Family Emergencies, Weddings, Family Vacation/Trip (only if communicated with a minimum of two weeks and if it is not on the week of a competition or the day of a competition)

Unexcused Absences: Anything that is not communicated within two weeks of an event, work, homework, family parties/dinners, or hanging out with friends.

Unexcused absences can result in loss of a solo part, drill position, or in the most severe of cases, dismissal from the marching band program.

Any absences that are not illnesses or family emergencies must be communicated via Absence Form which can be found below.
