Weekly Update
February 18, 2025
From the Principal
Dear Aquin Families,
At the end of this week, I will be taking a leave of absence for the next five to six weeks to take care of a personal medical issue. While serious, the medical issue is not life threatening and for that I am very grateful. While I may not be physically present after this week, I will still be checking my email and communicating with staff as needed.
In my absence, the staff will be adding additional responsibilities. Mrs. Morrison will take the lead on major disciplinary issues that cannot be resolved by the classroom teacher. She will also be present for lunch and recess duty in my absence. Father McMorrow will continue to oversee the school in his role as Executive Pastor and will be available as needed. As always, Mrs. Gaulrapp will help direct any needs of parents and staff to the appropriate person. She does a great job, and I have no doubt that she will continue to do so!
We still have many initiatives moving forward to help us grow our enrollment for next year. One which you may have seen on Facebook is a tuition transfer grant worth $1500. This grant good for the remainder of this school year for students in grades K-7. If you know someone that would maybe like to test Aquin out, but isn't sure, this is a good way to encourage them to contact us. We can also arrange for shadow days and tours. Contact Peyton Glawe if you have someone in mind and he can reach out or feel free to pass his information along.
Congratulations to our three students that competed in the IGMSA this past weekend. Our school received all first-place ratings. The students performed solos, a duet and a trio. Also, a thank you to Mrs. Spotts for preparing them so well for the competition. Way to go DAWGS!
It's going to be a cold week, so a sweatshirt or sweater are a must for students. We will remain inside for recess, but the building has many variations on temperature that can only be solved with having an additional layer available to them.
Have a great week!
Mrs. Heitkamp
