Thank You!
I wish to thank Mr. Mascarinas for preparing the 5th graders for last Sunday's Family Mass. The 5th graders did a great job on their readings, taking up the offertory and serving as collectors during the December 8th 10:30 AM Mass.

Advent Reconciliation
Please be informed that Grades 3 - 8 will go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation this week. Only 2 grades will go at a time. The homeroom teachers will let you know when their respective homeroom is scheduled to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

1 Corinthians 12:12-14:

This passage emphasizes the importance of each person's unique contribution to the whole.
- I want to extend a special thank you to Mr. Nicolas, Mr. Mascarinas, Mrs. Acosta, and Mrs. Allen for serving as Eucharistic Ministers at our Friday, 8:00 AM Masses.
- I also want to the thank the Class of 2025 for preparing our Friday, Mass Slides and taking on the Ministry of Proclaiming the Word at our Friday Morning Masses.
- I want to thank the Classroom Teachers for sharing their faith with our students through their religion classes and the Sacramental Prep Program.

RESPECT LIFE ESSAY CONTEST
The Respect Life Essay Contest is an annual event for students in grades K-12 in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, with grade-appropriate prompts around a specific theme each year (based on catholic social justice teachings, more here).
This contest is a gentle way of raising awareness about different topics that pertain to the dignity of the human person. This yearās contest theme is āRespecting and Loving Our Elderlyā.
You can find downloadable instructions as well as all materials on this site https://sfarch.org/essay-contest/ including links and videos to be used. Entries are due by January 24, 2025. A perfect time to do this is during Respect Life month in October. However, you are welcome to submit your entries at any time between August 1, 2024 and January 24, 2025.

- Prospective students may shadow on Fridays from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Some parents have inquired about the drills that we have scheduled this year. In our efforts to make sure that we are always prepared for any possible emergencies. we will have the following drills throughout the school year.
Fire Drills

Below is a School Fundraising Calendar that we are keeping for the 2024-2025 School Year. If you have an idea for a fundraiser please transmit your ideas to one of the following persons that have been designated contact persons with the office in regards to fundraising.

Parents / Guardians - Virtus & Live Scan
All Parents & Guardians
All parents and guardians that intend to be on campus (Yard Helper, Art-in-Action, etc.) in the presence of children and function as a chaperone on field trips, or functioin as a coach, commissioner, score keeper, etc. in the Athletics program must meet the following requirements.
- Complete the online course "Protecting God's Children 4.0"
- Complete and pass a live scan form (fingerprints)
Directions for Virtus and Live Scan
- First, create an an account using the "First-Time Registrant" button on the VIRTUS website.
- Complete the training module (currently Protecting God's Children 4.0). This needs to be renewed every 3 years in order to maintain compliance.
- Obtain a Live Scan Form either from schoolspeak or from the office.
- Go to a Live Scan vendor to be fingerprinted.
- Once the fingerprint from the state DOJ and the FBI have been entered into VIRTUS and the training module is complete, you are now eligible to minister with minors.
Please Note - Be patient. The return time for fingerprint results varies widely.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Carmen Perlas for her tireless efforts to prepare our students for this year's Christmas Program. I also want to thank the Classroom Teachers for their efforts and hard work in working with Mrs. Carmen Perlas and providing extra practice and guidance as needed. Lastly, I want to thank the students for putting ther whole heart and sole into last Wednesday's performance.
This year's Christmas Program was a success through the collective efforts of so many!
