Parents & Guardians,

Wow! October was such a busy month... Report Cards, Parent Conferences, Intersession, Fundraisers, Picture Day, Westward Expansion Day, Fall Book Fair, McTeacher's Night, Red Ribbon Week, Door Decorating Contests, SIC & PTO meetings, Halloween, plus many more fun events!

At the bottom of this newsletter, you can find our YIS Calendar with important events during November and December. Please reach out if you have any questions!

A few reminders:

• Tuesday, November 5: No School (Election Day)
• Wednesday, November 27- Friday, November 29: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)
• Our Nothing Bundt Cakes Fundraiser began October 30. All orders are due by November 13 at 9:00am. We cannot take any orders after this time. Orders can be picked up at YIS on November 25 from 3:00-5:00. We will send directions for pick-up closer to November 25.

We held our first PTO Meeting of the year on October 30. Thank you to those that were able to attend! We have scheduled our remaining PTO Meetings for the year. Both meetings will take place at 4:00 in the YIS Media Center. We will offer a virtual option as well so more parents are able to join. We will send out links to join the meetings virtually closer to both meeting dates.

Student Council is selling long sleeve shirts, crewneck sweatshirts, and hoodies starting Wednesday. All students will receive order forms on Wednesday. All orders are due by Tuesday, November 12.

Make-up Picture Day is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13. This is the picture that will be used for our school yearbook.

Don't forget to order your child's YIS 2024-2025 Yearbook!

Don't forget to submit your child's absence excuse any time he/she is absent. We appreciate your support in making sure regular (on time!) school attendance is a top priority.

Show your YIS student jus thow much he or she ROCKS by painting a custom message for birthdays or other special events or accomplishments! Here are the guidelines for renting the YIS Spirit Rock:
