What Every Spartan Needs to Know
Academic Celebration
We recently reviewed our student's state testing data and wanted to more publicly celebrate how well our students performed! This past Spring, our 9th-11th graders outperformed the rest of the state by 16.4% in English Language Art and 15.6% in Math!! There's still growth to be had, but these sort of numbers deserve to be shared and celebrated...GO SPARTANS!
How to Report Attendance
Parents, PLEASE REPORT ALL ATTENDANCE IN INFINITE CAMPUS. You are able to enter your request directly into IC at any time of day, even for short notice or late requests. (Instructions). If you are concerned that the office staff is not receiving your IC absence request, please make sure you allow push notifications for the Infinite Campus app on your phone. Once the IC request is processed you will get a notification.
As a back-up, you can leave a message on the attendance line, 608-838-4657, or email mhsattendance@mcfsd.org. Please do not call the main office to report an absence, doctor appointment, early pick up, or late arrival, even if it's last minute. These should all go in IC or use the phone number or email listed above, as these methods are the fastest ways to contact us.
Spartan Reset
With homecoming approaching quickly, here is a reminder of the Spartan Reset, which includes criteria to attend dances. Please review the infographic below. If a student gets close to meeting the criteria and/or being ineligible to attend the dance, you will be notified.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Schoemer (last names A-K) or Ms. Harper (last names L-Z).

WI School Immunization Requirements & Vaccine Clinics
Every school in Wisconsin is required by law to report their student’s vaccination status to the local health department 30 days after the start of school. See WI Student Immunization Law by Age/Grade Requirements. Your student’s health assistant will be sending out legal notices at that time if the school has no record or if your student’s immunization status is “behind schedule”. If you are not sure if your student is up to date with immunizations, you can contact your doctor's office/My chart or you can look them up on the Wisconsin Immunization Registry using your child's social security number and/or Medical ID. If you need access to a waiver (for personal, religious or health reasons) for any vaccination, please utilize the student immunization record (English, Spanish) see step 4 and return it to your student’s health office.
Vaccine Clinics: Public Health Madison & Dane County is partnering with Madison Metropolitan School District and SSM Health in a few weeks to offer more school vaccine clinics to get students up to date on their school vaccines in time for the 2024-25 school year. These clinics will take place at the below times and dates in Madison.
