As a reminder, elementary students will no longer be able to be in the bus loop in the front of Richard Mann Elementary at any time when school is in session. Due to the number of busses we have going in and out of the bus loop with the addition of UPK, cars are no longer be able to pick up or drop off students in the main bus loop. As you face the main entrance of Richard Mann Elementary, the small bus loop to the left of the building's main entrance can be used for student pick up and drop off. We have staff assisting students in the small bus loop at arrival and dismissal for those not utilizing bus transportation.

Candidates interested in running for a seat on the Gananda Central School District Board of Education can now pick up their petition form. Petitions are available by printing the form from our website, by requesting one in-person in the District Office located in Gananda Middle School at 1500 Dayspring Ridge, Walworth between 8:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., or by calling the District Clerk at 986-3521 ext. 8-4313 to request one. All petitions must be filed no later than Monday, April 22, 2019 at 5:00 P.M.

Gananda Central School District is nearing the halfway mark for the 5-year strategic plan which will conclude in June of 2021. As such, we will be sending out survey questions to all of our students, staff, parents, and community members to gather input as to the progress we have made so far. Be on the look out for emails in the coming weeks about participation in the surveys.

There wil be a Daddy Daught Dance Pop Up event on April 6th at the ES Playground from 8:30AM-930AM to purchase tickets.

Support the boys lacrosse team by purchasing a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Yeti cooler and other products! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from Coach Sidari or any parent of a high school boys lacrosse player. Tickets will also be available to purchase during home JV and Varsity boys lacrosse games. Gananda PTO will meetings will be held the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm for the remainder of the school year. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7.

The meeting will be located at the middle school cafeteria from 7:00pm-8:00pm.

Discussions will include upcoming volunteer and committee opportunities.

All interested parents, administrators, faculty, and staff are welcome.

How to stop a nosebleed:

• Lean forward slightly with the head tilted forward. Leaning back or tilting the head back allows the blood to run back into the sinuses and throat, and can cause gagging or inhaling of blood.Spit out any blood that may collect in your mouth. It may cause nausea, vomiting, if swallowed. Gently, blow any blood clots out of your nose. The nosebleed may worsen slightly when you do this but this is expected.

• Pinch all the soft parts of the nose together between the thumb and index finger.

• Press firmly toward the face - compressing the pinched parts of the nose against the bones of the face. Breathe through your mouth as you do this.

• Hold the nose for at least five minutes. Repeat as necessary until the nose has stopped bleeding.

• Sit quietly, keeping the head higher than the level of the heart. Do not lay flat or put your head between your legs.

• Apply ice (wrapped in a towel) to nose

• Consult a doctor for a nosebleed if bleeding cannot be stopped, there is a large amount of blood lost, or you feel weak or faint. Also if you frequently get nosebleeds.
