June 2025
Superintendent's Letter
Dear Bristol Township School Community,
Well, that's a wrap for the 2024-25 school year. We are very appreciative of the efforts of our staff and the support of our school community to make the end-of-year events and activities so special for our students.
On a personal note, it is always wonderful to see our students' achievements and accomplishments celebrated as the school year concludes, and an expression of gratitude to everyone who made the commencement ceremony for Truman's Class of 2025 a great one. We wish all of our graduates the very best as they move forward with their lives!
Please pay attention to our communication portals over the summer as we look forward to welcoming back staff on August 25 and students on September 2.
Our final newsletter for the school year features fun festivities and events, information on Summer Meals, and much more.
Please enjoy this month's newsletter and have a safe, relaxing summer!
Sincerely,
Michael Nitti
Superintendent of Schools
Congratulations to the Class of 2025

Clap Out for Interim Assistant Principal Ed Chmiel
Mill Creek had a last day of school "clap out" to thank departing Interim Assistant Principal Ed Chmiel!
What started as a short 10-week assignment quickly turned into a six-month journey filled with laughter, care, and countless moments of support. As a retired principal with experience across both elementary and secondary levels, Mr. Chmiel stepped into Mill Creek with ease, immediately connecting with the students, staff, and families.
Whether it was directing the car rider line, covering cafeteria duty, jumping into recess or dismissal, Mr. Chmiel was always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. He embraced every part of our school community — from wearing a bright green wig and leading Eagles chants at our PAWS assemblies, to playing in the 5th-grade dodgeball game, and cheering students on during field day events. No task was too small or too silly if it brought joy to the students of Mill Creek!
Thank you Mr. Chmiel for your steady leadership, warm smile, and genuine kindness that made a lasting impact on Mill Creek!

BTSD Proud Moments
BCIU Leadership Development
Educators Megan Gancarz and Eric Sarappo had the opportunity to represent Bristol Township School District in the Bucks County Intermediate Unit's Leadership Development cohort this school year.
Fostering the development of the next generation of school leaders, this program was a unique and invaluable opportunity to network with colleagues from across the county to learn, discuss, and devise new ideas to support school improvement and student achievement in their home districts and as collective county-wide LEAs.
Lower Bucks County Track & Field Tournament
Eugene Oberlander, PE teacher at Armstrong Middle School, organized and hosted the 2025 Lower Bucks County League South Division Track & Field Tournament at Truman High School on May 28.
The ten middle schools that make up the LBCL had students competing in short and long distance running races, relays, high jump, long jump, and shot put. Despite the rain, hundreds of athletes competed and won medals and ribbons in 26 events.
Welcoming Future 6th Graders
Franklin and Armstrong both welcomed future sixth graders for transition day! Students received tours, met teachers, learned about Franklin CARES and Armstrong ROCKS, and all the exciting things both schools offer.
Suicide Prevention Walk
On May 27, Franklin Middle School came together for its annual Suicide Prevention Walk in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.
Students walked with purpose and raised over $1,000 for NAMI Bucks County (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) to support their mission of awareness, advocacy, education, and mental health support.
BTSD Music Night
BTSD Music Night at Trenton Thunder was held on June 4. Hundreds of Bristol Township music students performed on the field before the Trenton Thunder opened up their season against the Williamsport Crosscutters. Additionally, five lucky students were chosen to throw out a "first pitch." Overall, more than 1,300 BTSD musicians and their families attended the game!
Rocking for a Cause
On June 9, Mill Creek students and staff dressed like their favorite rock stars to honor our friend, Lex.
In a special tribute, Lex's family generously donated pretzels to be sold, with all proceeds benefiting the Family Service Association of Bucks County in Langhorne.
Thanks to the incredible support from our Mill Creek community, we raised $642.06 in Lex's honor! Great work, Mill Creek Rock Stars!
