Marlow Monday Message

We hope everyone had a great weekend! We are headed down the home stretch of September, and Fall is definitely in the air. To date, our student attendance weekly average have been all above 95% so far!!! That is outstanding -- Keep up the great work!

Every student matters. Every day.

We had an amazing week last week with our One School. One Book Week theme. We loved seeing our students (and staff) dress up for the spirit days, and our school-wide 'dot mural' is located on the main hallway by the bus entrance. It looks awesome!

Congratulations also goes to Mr. Kinsey's class for winning the One School. One Book BINGO game, played last week during morning announcements.

Other happenings in the week included:

• A fantastic performance of 'SlowPoke - The True Story of the Tortoise and the Hare' was put on by the Flat Rock Playhouse for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. They travelled to West Henderson High School to view the performance.
• Our Marlow Dads and Daughters danced the night away at the Daddy/Daughter Dance on Thursday night, and finally
• A huge Marlow showing of students at the West Henderson Football Game on Friday for "Elementary Night'. Awesome to see our Buckaroos run out onto the field and be recognized!

It will be hard to beat, I know, but let's make this another amazing week. Work hard, and great things will happen!!

As a reminder, automatic free lunches will end on September 24, 2024 at Glenn Marlow Elementary School.

To ensure there is no interruption in meal benefits, we encourage families to complete the application for free or reduced-price meals as soon as possible. The application can be completed online at www.lunchapplication.com, or paper applications are available at the front office.

Universal Breakfast will continue for all students for the 2024-2025 school year.

Just a few reminders to those that are morning car riders:

• We open our doors at 7:30am. Please do not let your child out of the car until a Marlow Staff member has open the front doors.
• If at all possible, please have student get out oft the car on the passenger side, closest to the curb. This is safest for your child, as well as the other cars in line.
• We are always in need of volunteers (both Moms and Dads) to help us with morning car rider line, ensuring that students get out of their car in a safe and timely manner, keeping the line running smoothly. If you are interested in helping out, send me an email at jehart@hcpsnc.org, or, just show up and help out. We have a lot of fun!!
• At the 8:00 bell, we will place a blue sign on the sidewalk. If you are tardy to school (pat 8am), you MUST park and walk you child inside to sign them in. Please do not drop your child off if there is not Marlow Staff member is outside.

Thank you for helping make our mornings safe for all involved!!

In both the morning car rider drop-off line, and afternoon pick-up line, please do not block Alethia Academy's driveway, if stopped in the road.

Alethia kindly asks that you allow space from the car in front of you to let them in their parking lot, in the event traffic is stopped on Butler Bridge.
