Family School Connection: Fall Nature Walks
Evenings and weekends are beautiful this time of year! Here is a way to tie a family walk into skills for the classroom!
Lower Elementary: Go on a walk with kids and collect things along the way (rocks, leaves, sticks, flowers) come up with a list of describing words (adjectives) for the objects (nouns) that they found. How many words can they come up with?
Upper Elementary: Go on a walk with kids and have them use their five senses to tell a story for the family. Oral storytelling can build vocabulary and improves critical thinking skills!
You can also find great read stories on YouTube. Here are a few for fall!
