Dates to Remember
Ms Oliver
During this difficult time, we have been deeply moved by the outpouring of support following the passing of our beloved Ms Oliver. Your kind messages, thoughtful gestures, and the beautiful flowers sent have been very much appreciated by the staff. Your heartfelt expressions of sympathy remind us of the strength and compassion within our community. A funeral Mass is being planned and I will share more details once they are confirmed. Can we please keep Ms Oliver and her family in our thoughts and prayers.
Making Jesus Real (MJR) Gathering
Tomorrow morning at 8.50am we have our MJR gathering. At this gathering one special student from each class (PP to 6) will receive an award for showing the spirit of Jesus in their life. This could be helping our classmates when hurt or upset, using manners, showing gratitude, or even trying your best in everything you do. It’s a special award and one the recipients should be very proud of.
One Big Voice
Next Thursday 22nd August we are very excited about our choir attending the One Big Voice concert at RAC arena. Mrs Perry has done an excellent job preparing the choir for this fantastic event. I can't wait to see them in action!
Reconciliation Parent/Child Meeting
Next Wednesday evening at 6pm there is a Reconciliation Parent/Child workshop in the hall for those students making the Sacrament this Year. I thank Miss Moro for preparing the students and making sure they are ready for this special day.
Queenies Book Week
In Week 7 (26th – 30th August) we will celebrate Queenies Book Week. Mrs O’Brien in the library has organised some wonderful opportunities for our students and I thank her very much for this. The 2024 theme for Book Week is "Reading is Magic" and on Wednesday 28th August we are asking our students to dress up as their favourite book character and participate in a parade in the hall at 9am. Parents are welcome to join us. Also, on this day we have a visiting author, Renee Treml, who is coming to talk to our classes about what is involved in the writing process.
Father’s Day Breakfast and Stall
On Friday 30th August our dads and father figures will be able to enjoy a yummy breakfast with their children in the undercover area from 7.30am to celebrate Father’s Day. Please order by using the link below. Also, on this day the students will also be able to buy a gift for dad at the Father’s Day stall. I thank our P&F for organising both the breakfast and the stall for our community. If Mother’s Day was anything to go by it should be a great morning.
SNAFL Carnival Results
Last Friday our SNAFL teams competed in the regional carnival at Morris Buzzacott Reserve and had a great day. I would like to congratulate our soccer team who went undefeated for the day and took home the trophy. This is a fantastic achievement! Well done also to our netball (6th) and AFL(5th) teams for their efforts during the day. Thank you also to Miss Jenzen and Mr B for helping out on the day.
Pyjama Day
Pyjama Day will be rescheduled to later in the term. Once we have an exact date, we will let you know.
Playing after school
It has come to our attention that there have been some behaviour incidents happening after school on the grassed area outside the library and the playground. If students are playing in these areas, they need to be under parental supervision as there are no teachers on duty after 3.00 pm (apart from pickup areas). If behaviour incidents continue to occur, we will ban students from playing after school. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
Best Wishes
Mark Ryan
Principal
