PSSA 2024
March 2024
Dear Parents & Guardians of Arrowhead Third and Fourth Grade Students:
PSSA testing is quickly approaching. The daily work our Arrowhead teachers do assists in helping our students demonstrate success on the standardized testing in Reading/Writing (ELA), Mathematics, and Science. Additionally, there is a Pennsylvania Department of Education requirement for participation in the PSSA. It is our goal to have 100% participation on the PSSA tests. To this end, please note the following testing schedule:
English Language Arts (ELA): Grades 3 & 4
3 Total Sections
Wednesday, April 24th, Thursday, April 25th, and Friday, April 26th
Mathematics: Grades 3 & 4
2 Total Sections
Tuesday, April 30th and Wednesday, May 1st
Science: Grade 4 Only
2 Total Sections
Thursday, May 2nd and Friday May 3rd
Testing sessions will occur only in the morning, with one test scheduled per day.
Please assist us in helping your child be prepared for the state tests by ensuring he/she gets plenty of sleep the night before and eats breakfast each morning. If you are aware of any reason that your child will not be at school on one or more of the testing days, please contact the main office at 610-489-5000 *44200 so that make-up testing may be arranged. State mandate allows for make-up testing that extends several days beyond our scheduled testing dates. Any necessary make-up testing will take place immediately upon a student’s return to school.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about PSSA testing.
Thank you for your assistance with the state testing process.
Sincerely,
Dr. Aaron Roberts

Watch Dogs Information ***Clearances Required***
There are 2 primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. ® program.
1) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
WATCH D.O.G.S. ® (Dads Of Great Students) began in 1998 in a single school in Springdale, Arkansas and has since grown into a nationally recognized program that has brought hundreds of thousands of fathers and father figures into the school classrooms and hallways across the country, creating millions of hours of “in school” volunteer time and having a tremendously positive impact on the educational process.
If you are interested in becoming a WATCH D.O.G.S. volunteer, required clearances are required to volunteer as a Watch Dog. Please refer to the following link with district information relative to volunteering and clearance requirements.
If you are interested in serving as a Watch Dog Dad please email ihoff85@outlook.com or call the Arrowhead School Office at 610-489-5000 ext. 44200. Watch Dog Dads must have all the Methacton District required clearances. We can assist you in scheduling your special day as a Watch Dog Dad!
