Let's Support Our Students In Supporting Our Neighboring Communities

Only a week into the school year, Mrs. Fiscarelli's class was eager to lead a major service initiative for the district. They have been working incredibly hard to spread the word and have the support of the community. This newsletter introduction is written by them for all of you. Mrs. Fiscarelli, Mrs. Donovan, and I are incredibly proud of their hard work! I hope you will consider donating and supporting them in this effort so they can, in turn, support our neighboring communities impacted by Ida. The gift card collection ends Monday.

A Note from Mrs. Fiscarelli's Class

Dear Tewksbury Community,

We hope the tropical storm Ida didn’t affect you too much, but it did destroy beautiful places like Lambertville and Manville. Many items were lost or destroyed in the hurricane. This is the reason why Mrs. Fiscarelli’s class is trying to collect gift cards from Tewksbury families so we can help those whose houses and items got destroyed. We have set our goal high to 250 gift cards and we hope we can achieve it. We will be accepting gift cards from Walmart, Target, Shoprite, Home Depot, Lowes, Visa, and Giant Food Store. After purchasing a gift card, send your child to school to give to their homeroom teacher(s). We are accepting gift cards from 9/13 to 9/27. The gift cards are going to be donated to the Lambertville and Manville schools to give to students and families.

Quarantine Instruction

Should your child become ill with COVID-19 or be named a close contact of a someone with COVID-19, quarantine instruction will be provided within 24 hours of a family being notified of the need to quarantine. Please understand that we seek to contact families as quickly as possible so that you know your child needs to stay home. Your child's teacher will then be notified and will work to ensure instruction is provided. We ask that you please be patient with us and wait to hear from your child's teacher who will provide you with the resources needed for your child. Quarantine instruction will only be provided for those ill with COVID-19 or those who are named close contacts of someone with COVID-19 and must quarantine. Quarantine instruction is not available for students on vacation or home with another illness and is provided solely to assist those described above with a commensurate learning experience.

Don't Miss Out! The Tewksbury Spirit Wear Sales End This Sunday, 9/26!

Tewksbury Tiger Spirit Wear will be the first Friday of every month, unless school is not in session. On those days, it will be pushed back one week. Your children are encouraged to wear Tewksbury colors (blue, white and black) or their Tewksbury spirit wear. We look forward to seeing lots of Tiger pride around TES!

Important PickUp Patrol Information

Please don't forget to use Pickup Patrol (PUP) to change your child's default plan by 3:00 PM each day. If you are picking your child up early, please also enter this in PUP, and if your child is absent, you can enter the absence in PUP, as well. If you need assistance, please reach out to Cathy Pepe at 908-284-2594 x2002.

Lunch at TES

Lunches should follow guidelines for your child's class regarding allergens on weeks when lunch is eaten in the classroom. Please see the schedule below, which will help as you decide what to pack for lunches.

Week of September 27th: Week Blue

Week of October 4th: Week White

Week of October 11th: Week Blue

Week of October 18th: Week White

Week of October 25th: Week Blue

Look Who Got Caught Reading!

Dear Families,

In the library media center, we are putting together a display of staff and students reading. If you would like to share a picture of your child reading, simply email it to fperticari@tewksburyschools.org. The photo could be reading with someone, to someone, with four-legged or stuffed friends, or independently. We would like to add these pictures next to our pictures of TES staff reading on the “Look who got caught reading” bulletin board. I look forward to seeing them all. Happy Reading!
