Weekly Newsletter

Hello Families and Guardians,
Welcome back to school! We hope you had a fantastic summer break and are looking forward to the new school year. We’re eager to start a year filled with new learning opportunities, personal growth, and the chance to make new friends together.
Safety Procedures
As we gear up for the first day of school, we’d like to remind you of some important safety procedures for arrival and dismissal. Please do not arrive early for either arrival or dismissal. There should be no cars idling in a line on West Street. If you do arrive early, you will be asked to leave and return at the designated time.
Helpful tips for a smooth transition on the first day of school.
The first day of school is Thursday, August 29th, and it is a full day, with dismissal beginning at 3:10 p.m. The bus routes are linked in this newsletter—please click on the red link below. Remember, there is a 10-minute window before and after the scheduled bus time. For students being dropped off by car, please try to arrive as close to 8:30 a.m. as possible, as West Street can become congested. If your child is attending breakfast, it begins at 8:10 a.m., with drop-off at the main entrance between 8:10 and 8:20 a.m.
Dismissal Plan
Parents, please send a note to school informing your child’s teacher of their dismissal plan. The first few days of school are busy and exciting for everyone, and this note will help ensure a smooth dismissal process.
First Day of School Packet
On Thursday, families will receive their first day of school packet. Inside, you’ll find a demographic sheet with your contact information, including phone numbers, email addresses, and emergency contacts. Please review this form, update any information if needed, and return it to the school as soon as possible. If all the information is correct, simply initial the form to indicate that you’ve reviewed it. It's crucial that we have accurate phone numbers on file in case of an emergency.
If you have any questions regarding the first few days of school, please contact me at bkelley@lenoxps.org.
We look forward to a wonderful year ahead!

Welcome Back to School Message from Morris Community Parent Group (PTO)
Hello Tiger Community!
I am Kristen Moriarty, your PTO President, and along with Co-President Ashley Turczak and the entire PTO, we are excited to welcome you (or welcome you back) to Morris.
Please join us for a Welcome Coffee the first morning of school, Thursday, August 29. We will have coffee and donuts and gather from about 9-10 to introduce ourselves and get to know you--there is no obligation to participate in PTO, this is just a chance to meet other parents and caregivers. You are welcome to bring your younger children with you. Please cross through the Kindergarten playground gate to meet us around the back of the school.
Our PTO (aka Tiger Family Community) is our entire school-there is no formal membership or dues, and we welcome your participation throughout the year at any level of engagement that enhances your family's Morris experience. We meet once a month (generally the second Tuesday of the month) in the Morris library and on zoom from 6:30-7:30 pm to plan events for the school and ways we can partner with the faculty and staff to give our students the best learning experience possible. Some things we sponsor for the school are: Scholastic Book Fair, School Dance, Science Fair, Ice Cream Social, Monthly Birthday Celebration at lunch, Tiger Talent Show, Paint and Mingle Art Nights, and more.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Kristen
