PHM EXCELLENCE

Last week Dr. Thacker shared some important information relative to the latest student achievement data in Penn-Harris-Madison. We continue to be proud of our P-H-M Triangle of success connecting students, teachers and parents. We're excited to share with you points of #PHMExcellence from across the district.

Mark your calendars for the PHM Silver Mile Homecoming Weekend! This exciting two-day event, will take place on Friday, September 23 & Saturday, September 24 at Penn High School.

The fun starts at 5:00pm on Friday, with a BRAND NEW Homecoming Parade, the St. Joseph Health System’s Health Fair, a Fun Zone with inflatables and food trucks, a silent auction and more. Then stay for kick-off when the Penn Kingsmen battle the Marian Knights in the 2022 Homecoming Game. PHM students K-5 enter free with paying adult.

Then the fun continues at 8:30am on Saturday morning with the Silver Mile Run for Education. Register to participate in the popular timed 5K or the 1-mile Fun Walk. Registration is $10/student & $20/adult. Register online at phmef.org

This event is the perfect way to kick off fall and will give our PHM families a chance to reconnect and strengthen our PHM community. We hope to see you there!

This event will be held on October 8th at Schucker Middle School from 10:00-1:00. We are looking forward to bringing in a variety of cultural performances this year. Last year there was also a lot of information for families about community organizations and activities available to students, parents and families.

Educational Assistant: If you or someone you know has a passion for helping students succeed and feel yourself to be a life-long learner, problem solver and collaborative team member, then this is the position for you! Please reach out to me (KMartin3@phm.k12.in.us) if you would like to talk about the details regarding this position.

Universal Substitute: If you or someone you know loves being in the classroom, and collaborating with teachers and students, then please reach out with interest or questions to me at (KMartin3@phm.k12.in.us). The daily rate for this position is $115 and there is flexibility within the schedule.

Elementary School Employment Opportunity: Select elementary schools are in need of staff members who have a passion for working with students through our Kids Club After School Care from 2:00-6:00 pm. Please note that there is allowance for flexibility with days and hours for those who are interested in working. Additionally, if you are interested in the position and have an elementary school student in the same building you're working, your student may attend Kids Club for free. Chromebook insurance can all be paid through our PHM RevTrak program. See below for instructions. Families may elect to purchase Chromebook Insurance for School Year 2022-2023 at the cost of $25.00. All returning students and incoming students can elect to purchase Chromebook Insurance each year. This Insurance does not roll over from one school year to another. Shared below are the acceptable forms and methods of payment.

• Rev Trak – Online payment option available through Friday, September 16, 2022
• (Please note: A transaction fee is assessed when using this form of payment).
• Check made payable to Schmucker Middle School
• Money Order made payable to Schmucker Middle School
• Cash as provided to Schmucker Middle School’s Front Office

You can now purchase Chromebook Insurance via Rev Trak through Friday, September 16, 2022. After September 16, 2022, this option will no longer be available. After September 16th, students' Chromebooks will need to be inspected by Schmucker’s Building Technician before payment is accepted. You can find this form on the PHM Website.
