We have been working throughout Term One on creating a new student leadership structure

at Maungatapere School. This has taken time and has been an interesting journey for the

children and the Management Team. The structure of the school council has changed to

better meet the needs of the whole school. We are establishing 4 Ambassador roles, where

selected children will take on being the spokesperson/people representing Maungatapere

School, along with 12 House Leaders who will lead the 6 school houses. All children at

Maungatapere School will be placed in one of the 6 houses, with siblings. These house

groups will participate in schoolwide events and have an interschool competitive element.
