St. Francis of Assisi

We would like to introduce you to St. Francis of Assisi who is the patron saint of Holy Spirit Catholic School. St. Francis was born in Assisi, Italy in 1182. He gave up a life of wealth to live a life of poverty.

Did you know…?

He established the Fransican order
He is the patron saint of nature and animals and merchants
It is said that he received the stigmata two years before he died. This was the wounds of Christ from the cross including his hands, feet, and side.
Francis set up the first known Nativity scene to celebrate Christmas in 1223.
His feast day is October 4th

We would love to share St. Francis’ love of animals. Please send in a picture of your pet this month that we can display on our saints bulletin board.

CATHOLIC SCHOOL REVIEW

Between October 8 - 10, 2024, we will be conducting a Catholic School Review in our school community.

We greatly appreciate your perspective by completing this short survey. The survey closes on Monday, October 7th, 2024 at 9 AM. The purpose of this process of gathering, analyzing and synthesizing information is to assist in strengthening the School Education Assurance Plan that continues to move and improve our school in the area of Catholicity. Our ultimate goal is to support faith formation and impact student learning.

Many hands make light work. School Council need volunteers for various events this year. Please help out.

School Fees

All outstanding school fees from the 2023-2024 school year are now due. To avoid going to collections in September, please log into your PowerSchool account to pay for your child's school fees. If you require assistance with your PowerSchool account, username or password, please contact Mrs. Susan Desaulniers in the school office at 780-416-9526.

The 2024-2025 school year fees will be shared in October as teachers are planning their class field trips.

If the back to school costs are feeling too much you may be eligible for our fee waiver. Please read more and if applicable complete the 2024-2025 Fee Waiver Application.
