Principal Notes
A note from Principal Dan Radicia
ENHS Families:
I appreciate all of our parent’s support during last Friday’s Tornado, the student shelter in place until 4:15 pm and the community's help in rebuilding part of Elkhorn that was destroyed by the tornado. EPS continues to work with various COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. I have attempted to organize these by categories but they include: financial assistance, food, diapers, clothing, automotive services, storage, meals - and much more!
With under 3 weeks to go, and prom in the books, this is always the time of year I would encourage parents to really reiterate to kids how important it will be to finish the school year strong. This team of kids has navigated this unique year so well, and I always want to work to help students avoid a ‘summer slide’ during the month of May. I know your conversations with your students go a long way in helping counter that phenomenon.
ENHS Seniors will take finals during 5th-7th periods on Tues. 5/14 and 1st-4th periods on Weds. 5/15. After this, we will conduct our Graduation Walk Through around 12:30 on EN turf on 5/15 after which time they will pick up their cap and gowns.
Final Testing Schedule/Last Days of School:
ENHS students will be dismissed early on both finals testing days in May. On Wednesday May 22, students will be dismissed at 12:55 after taking finals in periods 1, 2, 3 and 4. On Thursday, May 23, students will be dismissed at 11:45 after completing finals in periods 5, 6, and 7. Please note that no lunches are served on these final two days of school.
In order to protect the academic integrity of the assessments and to ensure that students are fully prepared for finals, students will not be permitted to take early finals. If a student misses a final, please plan on taking the final when the student is feeling better or when the student returns from vacation. Please schedule trips, vacations, and the like around these two days. I appreciate your cooperation.
PreACT and ACT Testing:
I was extremely proud of the focus shown by our 9th, 10th and 11th graders during ACT and Pre-ACT testing day on April 9. It was clear that our students took the test very seriously and gave the tests their best efforts. Thank you for reinforcing high expectations for the ACT tests and valuing high school and post-secondary education. Your conversations and expectations matter.
Post Prom Success:
We had over 515 students attend prom and post prom activities this last weekend. It was an incredible undertaking by our two prom sponsors Ms. Reyne Armbrust and Ms. Tomi Connelly. I am thankful for the hard working Junior Class Board who helped create a prom atmosphere within our building. Incredibly thankful for our Post Prom parents who chaired many of the events: valet parking, food, games, prizes, fundraising, treasury, security, admissions, casino, art gallery, dodgeball and hypnotist. I enjoyed meeting a lot of junior/senior parents throughout the night. Post Prom Chairs Betsy Peter and Julie Real, thank you for your leadership in providing a safe activity for our students. Thank you to all of the subcommittee chairs who led their teams to staying awake despite being sleep deprived. It was an incredible event for our students.
On behalf of the staff here at ENHS, I’d like to thank all of you for sharing your children with us this year. Your partnership is invaluable to our success as a school district and we are fortunate to have such a supportive community. Your dedication as parents, our students’ commitment to excellence and our teachers’ passion for teaching and learning has created a wonderful year full of accomplishments and memories. I am proud to have served you and your students this year at ENHS and I look forward to many great years ahead. Thank you and please have a safe and relaxing summer. I will be at the school the majority of the summer, save for a few weeks in July. Please feel free to call my office or email if we can be of assistance at the end of the year or over the summer break.
Principal’s Summer Schedule:
Parents, your partnership is invaluable to our success as a school district and we are truly fortunate to have such a supportive community. I work the month of June and take three weeks off before I start back again. So if you want to visit with me, email and let me know about coming up to talk with me.

Student Absences
Student absences & appointments ~
A parent or guardian must notify the office via telephone (402.289.0322) of any absences and/or appointments for your student(s). We do not accept emails.
If your student will be leaving during the school day, the sooner you communicate that to the office, the easier it will be to get a pass to your student, rather than having to call the classroom and interrupt valuable learning time. If your student is leaving between passing periods, they will not receive a pass, they just need to go to the office to sign out.
If your student is absent for a doctor, dental or counseling appointment, please have your student bring a note from the provider to turn into the school office. We will keep that on file for attendance purposes.
Parents are not required to come into the building to get their student. The office staff will verify the student has been called out, and the student will sign themselves out on the computer in the office and they will meet you at your car or drive themselves to where they need to go.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

2024-25 Online Registration Reminder
For the upcoming school year, EPS will again utilize an online registration system that will allow parents of K-12 students to log in and update information and complete all Back-to-School documents. As a reminder, to use this feature, parents/guardians will need to have a parent-access account in PowerSchool.
If you do not have a parent-access account, please follow this link for directions on how to create an account. However, this is a preparation step, and you will not be able to complete the online registration process until July. An email will be sent to the primary PowerSchool account email address when online registration is available.
If you have an account created but need to add additional students, please follow this link for directions: https://bit.ly/2wDNJuT.
If you have any questions or need assistance setting up your account, please call Elkhorn North, 402.289.0322.
