Greetings CHS Parents and Caregivers
Week One of Experiential Learning
This was our first week of Quarter Three Experiential Learning! Some of the offerings include:
Strength and Conditioning where students go to the YMCA and utilize their facility such as the weight room, cardio center, racketball, and more.
Plants are Fun with Dan and Heather! This course provides students with basic gardening techniques. This week, students created their own Fairy Gardens.
Information on other class offerings will be shared in future newsletters.
What does Title I Offer?
At Central High School, we benefit from a federally funded program called Title I. These funds help facilitate strong parent-teacher collaboration which is essential for our students' success. When parents and teachers work together, we create a powerful support system that enhances student learning and achievement. We encourage you to engage in open communication with your child’s teachers, participate in school events, and provide feedback on school programs. Your involvement not only helps us understand your child's unique needs but also fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility for their education.Together, we can help our students thrive academically and socially. Thank you for being an integral part of our school community!
Certified Nursing Assistant Program Update
CHS Students continue to be successful in the CNA Program offered through South Central College. This program runs until May 21st. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the Certified Nursing Assistant Test. We are extremely proud of our students taking advantage of this opportunity.
Application for Educational Benefits (Free and Reduced Lunch Application)
Starting September 5, 2023, the state of Minnesota started to cover the cost of one breakfast meal and one lunch meal for every student. Due to this, many families have not seen the need to fill out the application for educational benefits form.
It is important that families continue to fill this form out each year. Our school receives additional funding when families qualify for these benefits. Additional funding means more materials more staff, and more resources to meet the needs of your students.
There are two ways to apply:
1. Print, fill out, and return this application to Central High School
2. You can also apply in the Infinite Campus Portal by clicking on the "More" tab and then the "Meal Benefits" tab.
Please consider filling out this application. Funds from these benefits support your child's education.
In Need of Winter Gear?
With winter in full swing, students are often in need of warmer clothing. CHS has jackets, hats, and gloves available for students. If your student is interested, direct them to our Social Worker, Kerrigan.
