Off to a Great Start!
A Message from the Principal
Dear Preschool Families,
It's been a wonderful start to a new school year for our preschoolers! The smiles, laughter, and fun have been a welcome addition to the school building. All students have been busy making new friends, learning expected behaviors, engaging in classroom activities, and getting comfortable with their teachers and classroom aides. We encourage you to check in with your child about all of the new things they are learning everyday. Together, we will foster a love of learning and continued success for our students!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ciara Vanderhoff

Remind
Staying in touch with your child's classroom teacher is essential for a successful school year for your child! Please make sure you are signed up for Remind to receive notifications and updates from your child's teacher. Contact the school office if you need another code to sign up!
Preschool Attire
Safety First!
Keep in mind that your child is incredibly active here at school. Preschoolers participate in gross motor time in the gym and outdoor play time on the playground. It is highly encouraged that you send your child to school with closed toe shoes that are easy to walk, run, climb and play in! Keeping your children safe is always a top priority.
Lunn Road Dismissal Reminders
Please be reminded that staff members will assist your child into the car. If you need to buckle your child into their car seat, we ask that you please pull off into a parking spot to do so. Do not pull up and stop. This continues to back up the car line. Thank you for your understanding!
Whole Body Listening
Preschoolers are SAFE and KIND!
All staff members at our Preschool programs utilize PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) to help students learn developmentally appropriate problem solving and social skills. The expectation in preschool is that all students are safe and kind through utilizing the components of whole body listening. We highly encourage families to reiterate the components of whole body listening at home as well. Connecting the skills learned at school while at home make for a more consistent routine and successful school year!
School to Home Connection
Try out this at home tip to help boost your child's communication skills!
Have an adventure—without leaving your living room. Sit with your kids on a rug or couch and pretend you’re leaving for a big adventure on a magic carpet, submarine, or school bus. Ask them to share their ideas on where they want to visit, and take turns concocting a story about your adventure. Describe the sights you see and ask kids questions that invite their creative participation: “Look, there’s a circus! Can you see the elephants? What are they doing?” “Do you see that school of fish? What do you think fish learn about in school?” This is a great way to strengthen communication skills while having fun!
