A Letter From Our Principal
March on Wildcats,
Can you even believe that it is now March? Goodness; this school year is flying by. I know you Wildcat students probably do not agree, however, Quarter three will be over in a couple of weeks and then we are left with just 4th Quarter. In a few weeks we will actually begin planning for the next school year. You will begin making your selections for elective classes. Yikes! See that is quick.
Well, let’s talk about the fun theme of March—St. Patrick’s Day—the month of good luck. Everyone has the opportunity to be lucky, not just in March, but all year, every year. “Why?”, you ask? Because YOU create your luck. We ALL do. If we work hard, focus on our goals and dreams, meet the criteria needed for whatever it is we want, and stay determined to achieve, then you will have created the LUCK you need to move forward. You determine where you are going in life. I know you currently do not control where you are, BUT you do control where you will go. Think about what you want. Make a plan that includes baby steps and leaps and bounds. Take action on your plan. Stay focused and determined.
You will find that life is eager to assist you with your goals—as long as YOU take the lead.
Proud to be in the Pride,
Maura Bennington, Principal

CHECK THIS OUT!
Attention 6th and 7th graders!
Did you LOVE health class? Feel like you want to learn more? DMS is offering a new elective for next year called the Advanced Health Academy. You can be in 7th or 8th grade and we will be learning all the body systems, as well as medical terminology and First Aid. We will explore medical careers with details of how long you must go to school, how much you would make and what you would do in that job. Furthermore, we will be incorporating H.O.S.A. (Health Occupation Students of America) into the curriculum and competing against other schools in categories such as medical terminology, medical math, medical spelling, reading and even art.
Keep an eye out in April when registering for classes.
