A Message from the Principal
Dear Falcon Families,
This is such an exciting part of the school year. After this highly anticipated Spring Break, the rest of the school year will fly by. Our juniors and seniors just had a beautiful prom! In the next two months, our seniors will participate in many traditions and activities, including Senior Breakfast, Senior Dinner, Senior Week, Senior Picnic, and, of course, graduation. We are so proud of our graduates and make every effort to make sure they have a great end to their K-12 experience.
This month begins End of Course Testing. Please be aware of your student’s testing days and ensure they are present. Of course, we want students in class every day, but testing days are particularly important.
Please check your student’s grades regularly as we approach the end of the year. Students are working hard, but may need your support as we move into the busy last weeks of school.
Looking forward to a great end of the year,
Jeannie Hidalgo
Proud Principal
Dacula High School
Spanish
Sra. Matos's Spanish classes participated in "Locura de Marzo," an authentic and interactive international music comparison tournament. Students compared current popular Spanish songs from a variety of Latin genres. Students who predicted the winner of the competition were rewarded with a soda and treats from Latin America.
Alcova Falcon Welcome
Shout out to these student athletes who visited Alcova Elementary School and welcomed students to school on Friday, March 28! What a great way to start the day with some Falcon Spirit!
Spring Musical "The Addams Family"
50 DHS students worked tirelessly on this show - as either cast or crew - and were blessed to have record numbers in attendance for our four performances!
Tapestry 2025
Check out some of the art that was displayed at the GCPS Instructional Support Center for Tapestry 2025! Our art students amaze us every year with their talent and creativity and this year is no exception! We are proud of our creative, dedicated art students!
Dacula Dancers
AP Psychology
Women's History Month
Students in Falcon 30 created representations of their appreciation for women in honor of Women's History Month!
Muslim Student Association
The Muslim Student Association hosted a Ramadan Potluck for the community! They had a great selection of food and a great turn out!
Stat Reasoning
Students in Stat Reasoning are learning to write confidence intervals, so they practiced using Hershey’s Kisses! With a small cup full of 5 Hershey’s Kisses, they tossed and poured them out after estimating how many times they would land on the flat side. In pooling their data, they found their best estimate to be 32% of the time.
Stat Reasoning
Stat Reasoning tastes the rainbow! 🌈 Students in Stat Reason tasted 5 randomly selected Skittles with their eyes closed then guessed the color to determine whether or not they could predict color from taste. Because Skittles come in 5 colors, we would expect to be correct 1/5 or 20% of the time. All three classes had a guessing success rate between 43 and 48% correct! They can indeed taste the rainbow!
FBLA
Our Future Business Leaders of America students proudly represented Dacula at the Georgia FBLA State Championships. They brought home two top ten medals, which is a notable accomplishment for this newly reinstated chapter! E’Maree Howard placed in the category of Client Services and Fiyininfololuwa Akindairo placed for Introduction to FBLA!
AP Psychology
AP Psychology students put their knowledge into practice through mock therapy sessions where they diagnosed and suggested treatment for hypothetical patients.
DLT
Our GSLT and DLT students meet once a month to work on developing their leadership skills, and this month they started planning for their upcoming Cluster Leadership Summit.
AP Spanish
AP Spanish students researched a Spanish-Speaking country and worked with Ms. Brabender to gather information from reliable sources!
Teacher Appreciation
To love on our amazing faculty & staff and celebrate the first day of spring, we had a traveling Spring Charcuterie Garden Party!

DHS Track & Field News
The 2025 track and field season has really flown by. Your DAC TF Falcons top to bottom on both teams have grown and performed with some of the best in our local, region, state, and country.
Several of our athletes continued to improve their seasons best (PR) in March at the Gail Devers Invitational hosted by Mountain View HS and some rose to the top and earned medals.
The dynamic brother and sister duo from the Smink family, Olivia (9th) distance specialist PR'd in her 3200m taking 1st in her heat in only her second time running the event. Nicholas (12th) also PRd and took 1st in his heat in the 110 hurdles.
Austin Jungenheimer (11th) is still putting in mile after mile as he earned a silver medal dropping his 3200m time in only his second time running the event.
Terrance Barimah (12th) is putting his basketball skills to use in HJ, jumping a consistent 6'+ jump that earned him a bronze medal on the day.
and of course, Dallas Guy (11th), who continues to be triumphant in the 100h and is looking to PR in her 300h event before seasons end.
We have two wonderful teams of DAC athletes that we enjoy working with daily and watching them reach their potential. The varsity season will go thru May to the state championships which will be hosted by Carrollton HS on May 9 and 10th.
