TRANSPORTATION UPDATE
Dear TCPS Families,
The TCPS Transportation Department is experiencing logistical challenges associated with our bus schedules, and we are aware this is causing inconveniences for our families. Many of the issues that we are experiencing are typical for the start of the school year and we encourage patience as we work through these normal routing challenges.
This year there is an additional issue compounding our bus schedule delays, which is a significant increase in the number of car riders and the associated traffic coordination at some of our school sites. The TCPS transportation and safety departments are coordinating with our local law enforcement to safely manage the additional traffic.
There may be minor changes taking place at some of our schools that are intended to help with transportation schedules and the site coordination of traffic. Please be aware that some of these changes may result in traffic flow alterations and minor school schedule changes.
In an effort to help our parents be more aware of their child’s daily bus schedule while we work through these difficulties, TCPS will be activating the “Here Comes the Bus” application as early as September 8th. Stay tuned for additional information and once again, we appreciate your support and patience.
Thank you!
