The Online Registration opened April 1, 2025. Enrollment appointments are no longer required. An income verification document and the Eligibility Screening Tool must be uploaded to the OLR application for all Pre-K students. Please view the enrollment page for other documents needed to enroll. School selections will also begin April 1, 2025 via the Parent Portal after the online registration has been processed. If you need help entering the lottery after enrolling please email me and I can help you. Reminder that you cannot enter the lottery until your enrollment has been fully processed and have either received an Activation Key for Parent Portal or if you already have one, that your student shows up in the list of students in your homepage.

Latchkey Registration opens Monday, May 12th at 7 AM for students currently enrolled in the Latckey Program and Monday, May 19th at 7 AM for students enrolling in the Latchkey Program for the FIRST time. Our Latchkey teacher will send current families a link in order to access the registration and the link on the Latchkey page will go live for the public on May 19th.

I've created a newsletter that explains what the 3rd Grade Reading Guarantee is and what it means when it comes to your students' test scores. It will also include this year's Testing Dates, Promotions/Exemption information, Family Resources, and ClassLink (Home access to iReady) access information. Testing Dates:

• Testing for CSIA's 5th grade students will take place during the week of May 19-23, 2025.

The STAMP 4SE Test:

• This series of assessments are specifically designed to be developmentally and linguistically appropriate for learners in world language, dual language immersion programs, or other school environments with learners aged 12 and younger.

What skills are tested?:

• The Avant STAMP 4Se will assess a student's receptive and productive skills. Students will complete tasks to assess skills in: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.

Aligned to proficiency standards:

• Avant's assessments utilize authentic texts and audio you would encounter in the real world such as signs, animals, and the weather. Avant proficiency tests are aligned to US proficiency standards.

Computer Adaptive Tests:

• Adaptive tests eliminate questions that are too easy or too difficult for each test taker allowing them to reach their highest level of proficiency. All Avant assessments are developed by professional target language and assessment experts.

The Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESC) has compiled a list of community resources in Central Ohio to help support undocumented students and families. The ESC provides school districts and schools with professional development, technology, human resource, and administrative supports, and direct student services that help improve student learning, enhance the quality of instruction, expand equitable access to resources, and maximize operating and fiscal efficiencies. When using a personal computer you can add a profile/account for your student by signing into their student Google account. The username is their student ID, which you can find in parent portal. Their login would be studentID@columbus.k12.oh.us and their password is their birthdate with ccs at the beginning and would look like ccsXX-XX-XXXX. Follow the directions below to get started. We have our first round winners! Los Quetzales won 1st place, Las Tortugas 2nd and Los Ocelotes were 3rd! The Quetzales won a pizza party and our 2nd & 3rd place winners won a popcorn party, which we'll have after Spring Break! We will be doing another round of Penny wars between the 15 different Animal Houses. Again, the first House to fill their jug will win a pizza party! All proceeds will go to the PTO so that they can sponsor family events (ex: Cultural Fiesta) & class activities.

Conservatory Education programs offer fun plant-focused activities to inspire curiosity and ignite learning. Pre-K programs are specifically designed to complement Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards to support school readiness.

To keep this year’s Field Day a success, we are looking for a few good volunteers. Volunteers will be in charge of running and explaining games to the classes as they rotate through their Field Day activities. Third and some of 4th Grade students are going on a field trip to Hopewell Culture National Historical Park. Which offers a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating history and culture of the Hopewell people, a prehistoric Native American society that thrived in eastern North America. The park preserves several earthen monuments and allows visitors to hike through the fields and imagine the gatherings that took place there thousands of years ago.

ARISE (ARTs through Intergenerational Social Engagement) is a five-week intergenerational program focused on storytelling through the fine arts. The ARISE Scholars Program will provide teens who are currently in grades 9-12 with the opportunity to earn service hours, to volunteer in the community, and to experience how the fine arts can be used as a tool for wellness. The central theme of ARISE is storytelling. Throughout the program, they will explore how theatre, music, dance, and the visual arts can help us share our stories with others. There is no cost to participate, although scholars will be responsible for their own transportation. Each student who completes the program will earn a $100 travel stipend. Questions?
