Students participated in kindness activities this week in which we celebrated the number of ways that we can support each other and show kindness throughout our school and our lives.

Thank you to Mr. Gallagher and the Art Club for helping create a little sunshine in the main hall. Students wrote random thoughts of kindness, messages for hope and love on sunshine rays and did an amazing job encouraging each other. Our sun will shine every day here at AMS.

Tuesday students had the option to paint kindness rocks at recess. The symbols and messages of kindness will enhance our kindness garden planned for the front of the school in the Spring... stay tuned.

Students of the Month are nominated by their teachers and selected based on their particpation, citizenship and contributions to the class and school as a whole. Today, we recognized our students at lunch with a certificate and a round of applause from their classmates. Congratulations to all of this months recipients.

Our eighth grade classes celebrated today the completion of reading the ELA book "The Outsiders". This book is a classic coming of age novel exploring the themes of conflict, friendship, self discovery and family. Today our students watched the film of "The Outsiders" and donned their favorite looks portraying the Greasers and the Socs (Socials).
