Parents, some important information that needs your attention!
- Due to changes in Idaho law, all parents are encouraged to login to Infinite Campus as soon as possible and update the following information:
The Idaho Legislature has created two new laws that impact your child’s experience at school. Both laws necessitate parents taking action by logging into the parent portal of Infinite Campus, and selecting Annual Update to provide consent for:
Boise School District staff to provide health care to your child, including basic first aid.
Use of a nickname that you would like your child to go by at school.
For more information on each new law and the resulting changes, please click here.
Annual Notification Regarding Public Release of Student Directory Information
The Boise School District complies with federal law (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) as it relates to the release of student directory information to the public. To learn more, log on to www.boiseschools.org and navigate to Parents & Patrons > Parent Information > FERPA Form. Or, please call the Clerk of the Board at 208-854-4123 to obtain a copy of the FERPA form.
New Attendance Policy
The Boise School District has updated the way we enter absences. Students will be marked AB for most absences. They will only be marked EA for instances like slow traffic due to snow. If your child is at a medical appointment and you bring a doctor note to the school it will be marked as MD. If your child is out with the flu or illness for an extended period of time, we can mark the rest of the absences EA, but only with a doctor note. Please continue to let us know why your child is gone. We will continue to put notes in as to why your child is absent.
AB- Absent
EA- Excused
MD- Dr. Note on file
Parents now have an opportunity to directly help classrooms and teachers!
Foundation Funds Protocol -The Foundation will be able to offer your child's classroom teacher an individualized Classroom/Program direct fundraising page for their classroom accounts. The direct fundraising page will be be linked directly to the teacher's Foundation account, which will be shared out next month. That's great news!! 🙂

🐾Parents,
A huge shout out for having your phones with you when you check out your child. Using our QR code to check out your child has been a time saver for everyone. The QR code is quick, communicates directly with the teacher and provides a stamp date. It's a win, win!!

EVERY DAY MATTERS at Mountain View!
ATTENDANCE
This year we are working on a campaign of EVERYDAY Matters #Less than 9 - Be on time. We are encouraging kids to be here EVERYDAY. We are also trying to meet an individual goal of less than 9 absences in a school year. That keeps them from being considered chronically absent. We are also encouraging kids to be on time!! The first bell rings at 8:40 and the tardy bell rings at 8:45! Be On Time! We understand that illness occurs, see the following for Big sick (stay home):
Sore throat
Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
A temperature of 100.4° F or higher without the use of fever-reducing medication
New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing OR for students/employees with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in cough from baseline
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
The research shows students who miss school, fall behind, have lower scores, have worse attendance as they age, have lower GPA, and test scores than students who regularly attend. This is just the impact absenteeism has on individuals. There are also impacts on the classroom, teachers, and the community as a whole. More to come on these later issues....Stay Tuned!
