Update on proficiency days/GSD days
As we begin semester two, we have evaluated the use of "get stuff done" (GSD) days which were previously held at Trollwood. To use time more effectively, we have now moved to hosting monthly “proficiency days” to further align what is being done in the traditional high school buildings.
The last Friday of every month, we will be hosting proficiency days at the FPS District Office (700 7th Street South). All VA teachers in core areas are present to assist students in person on these days. Any student in grade 6-12 is invited to participate, but students who are either failing a class or who is more than 10% behind pace in their classes is required to attend.
Our next proficiency day will be held on March 28, 2025. There are two sessions: morning from 9:00 to 12:00 P.M. and afternoon from 12:30 to 3:30 PM.
Upcoming Testing Dates
NDA+ spring testing is approaching soon for all students in K-10. It is very important that all students participate in this test to assure that we meet requirements for the state.
ACT testing is being held on the morning of Tuesday, March 25 at 9:00 am. Testing will be held at the District Office (700 7th Street South). Students should bring a calculator if available and plan to be at the District Office for testing by 8:45 am. This includes all of the multiple choice tests and can be used for college admission and ND Choice Ready.
ASVAB testing is being held on the morning of Thursday, April 10. This test also helps qualify student for ND Choice Ready and the ND Scholarship. Any junior or senior who has not yet tested is required to test; any junior or senior that needs to improve their test score is invited to participate.
Prom
Juniors and Seniors in Virtual Academy are able to attend Prom in the building that their boundary is associated with. Below are the dates of prom at each school as well as information on ticket sales. Cost of attendance at prom is $40 for a couple or $20 for an individual. This includes attendance at post-prom.
