Book Fair & Comics Corner Opening
We earned over $400 and purchased over $500 in books from our book fair. The Comics Corner grand opening was this month. We had popcorn, prizes and lots of reading.
What is genre?
6th grade came in for a lesson on genre.
Aurasma
Mrs. Cox helped Mrs. Brooks and Mrs. Lancaster's class create augmented reality presentations on their endangered animals using the Aurasma app.
Book Bootcamp
This month, teachers read historical fiction and learned about YourNextRead, Novelist and Book Wizard.
Technology Focus Group
7th graders came into the library to compare iPads and iPad minis. The winner? iPad mini!
Book Club Plans
There are three book clubs reading right now. 6th grade girls are reading The Wig in the Window, 7th graders are reading Stung, and the late bus book club is reading Divergent.
Project Maria
One of our ESL students, Maria, connected with a Wren Middle student using Facetime. With an introduction from Mrs. Cox, Maria is making Animoto videos to get to know her new friend.
Top Titles at Palmetto
The top titles are the Wimpy Kid series, Hunger Games series, Divergent, How They Croaked, and the Name of the Star.
