Dear Spring Lake Elementary Families,
Our Character Trait for May is: Responsibility
Responsibility means being dependable, making good choices, and taking accountability for your actions.
Can you believe it is almost time to say goodbye to another school year? We have accomplished so much together this year. We have some fun activities and events planned for the coming weeks!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
1. Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6th- 10th): Let's celebrate our amazing teachers with gratitude! We have some special activities planned throughout the week. See the flyer below for more information.
- Monday (Kick Off): Wear your teacher's favorite color.
- Tuesday (We're Crazy About Our Teachers): Wear crazy socks.
- Wednesday (Teachers Provide Us Comfort): Wear comfy clothes.
- Thursday (Teachers Have Greatness in their "Genes"): Wear jeans.
- Friday (Our Teachers Help Us Soar): Wear school shirt/colors.
2. Book Fair (May 7th-10th): Click on this link for the parent letter. More details are below.
3. Pool Day/Field Day: Get ready for a day of sunshine and fun! Teachers will be sending more information home about these activities.
- Pool Day (Grades 4th & 5th): Monday, May 20th
- Field Day (Grades 1st-3rd): Monday, May 20th
4. Lost & Found: Please remind your child(ren) to check the lost & found. All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity.
5. Registration Dates for the 2024-2025 School Year: (See flyer below)
- We do not take parent requests for class placement. However, we recognize that some children have special circumstances that need to be considered. If you would like to provide any additional information, please fill out the following form.
6. Kindergarten Round-Up:
- Kindergarten Round-Up for 2024-25 School Year. If you have a child starting Kindergarten next year, please sign-up for a pre-assessment time for your child (Wednesday, May 22nd) by clicking on this link.

Teacher Appreciation Week - May 6th - 10th
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We will have a kindness task associated with the Book Fair. We are looking for donations for the Teacher Appreciation Lunch on Thursday 5/9. We have a Sign-up Genius here.
If anyone would like to make an appreciation poster for the staff, we are looking for a couple more volunteers here.

Book Fair - May 7th-10th
Dear Parents and Families (Parent Letter link),
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming BOGO Scholastic Book Fair! Hosted by our PTA, this event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries with s'more books and further their love of reading. All items purchased at the school are Buy 1 Get 1 Free, so it is a great time to stock up for summer reading!

Bright Ideas Summer: STEAM in Our World
When: July 1-5 and 8-12, 2023 (except for July 4),
8:00 a.m. to Noon
Where: Larsen Elementary School-Spanish Fork
Cost: $150 Per Child
Bright Ideas is for highly motivated elementary school-aged students, interested in learning new things. Open to all students entering kindergarten through those entering seventh grade this fall.
Students will use creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) skills to learn more about the world around them. A lot of hands-on learning and creating!
