ESSA Comprehensive Needs Assessment Training (via ZOOM)

Wednesday, April 15, 2020

9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Description: This online training will focus on the federal and state requirements to engage in a comprehensive needs assessment process. The training focuses on a process where you will determine your district or campus strengths and weaknesses. In this training, you are not solving the problems that are identified - you are simply learning the process of finding areas of strength and needs for your district or campus. There will be another session focusing on how to solve the identified problems.

ESSA Campus/ District Improvement Plans Training (via ZOOM)

9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Description: This online training will focus on the federal and state requirements to complete a campus and/ or district improvement plans for Title I campuses/ districts. The training focuses on a process where you will use your district or campus strengths/ weaknesses and solve the problems that are identified. There will be a focus on meeting the requirements of ESSA for improvement planning for the 2020-2021 school year.

If you are unable to attend the zoom meeting on the specified day, both meetings will be recorded for viewing at a later date. The recorded links will be included on our next SMORE.

SRSA Application - Due Date April 17, 2020

The U.S. Department of Education has shared the following SRSA Application Webinar Registration Information with SRSA eligible applicants.

The Department will conduct the final application webinar for SRSA-eligible LEAs on April 2, 2020 to demonstrate the simplified process for submitting the SRSA application using MAX Survey. The webinar will answer questions from participants throughout the presentation.

To register for the webinar, click the hyperlink below. After the registration is complete, the participant will receive an email containing a personalized access link. Participation is capped at 1,000 attendees per session.

We have received some questions regarding Equity Plan Submissions for the 2019/20 school year. If you have not received an email from TEA or from Camie Holcombe at Region 17 ESC, your district is NOT required to submit an Equity Plan. However, please review and evaluate your current plan and make any adjustments necessary to continue decreasing equity gaps in your district.

Those of you required to submit an Equity Plan for 2019/20, the deadline has been extended to July 1, 2020.
