Leadership Message
Forest Play Launches this Week
The excitement to play in the forest is palpable, and the forts that children are building are exceptional...I believe we have 6 forts and still more are being built!
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, all St. Luke students are welcome to play in the forest during both recesses.
The exceptional creative play in nature is fantastic. We have children using sticks as canes because they are 245 year old! "Luigi and Mario" were racing through the forest this week. Trees became gymnastics equipment and a large fallen trunk became the stage for a quartet!
The Cross-Grade collaboration, play and support that is naturally occurring is absolutely heartwarming!
At St. Luke, we play in the forest together!
Growing Anticipation in Kindergarten & 2&3 Class!
The excitement and anticipation is building at St. Luke as we learn about and watch the growth of our chicken and duck eggs in our Grade 2&3 class, as well as the basil and tomato plants our Kindergarten students are growing in our tower garden!
We are bringing nature learning into the classroom!
Setting the Direction for St. Luke
Thank you to the many parents who came to our St. Luke School Council meeting on Monday evening to explore our Assurance Survey results and begin to set the stage for St. Luke's future! The discussions were rich and affirming. We are on the right path together! There were excellent suggestions brought forward to continue St. Luke's growing future, and parent voice in that future is vital!
Thank you for investing in our St. Luke Catholic School Community! Stay tuned for our 2025-2026 St. Luke Assurance Plan coming to you soon!
Registration for 2025-2026 is open...We are growing!
Continue to spread the word that registration is open for the 2025-2026 school year. Our early learning programs continue to grow and I am delighted to connect with our many new families! We continue to welcome new families to our St. Luke Catholic School village!
Our nature infused direction is gaining momentum in the community. Let's keep it growing!!
If you know of families who are interested in joining our Catholic School family, or have questions, please encourage them to contact Mme Gravelle at the school. She is booking tours and proudly flying our St. Luke banner!

The REAL (Religious Education Activities for Life) Foundation is once again asking for your support for our 22nd annual golf tournament on Wednesday May 21, 2025 at the Broadmoor Golf Course. This tournament raises funds to support Catholic education in the Elk Island Catholic Schools. These funds enable students to be inspired by Catholic speakers, attend faith-based retreats and leadership activities along with the goal of providing student scholarships in our high schools and parishes. This strengthens the Catholic education of Elk Island Catholic School students from kindergarten to Grade 12 in Strathcona County, Fort Saskatchewan, Camrose and Vegreville.
