Principal's Message
Happy Friday Cougar Families!
The Medal of Honor was created as the highest military decoration for individuals that exhibited the highest quality of character - Courage, Sacrifice, Patriotism, Citizenship, Integrity, and Commitment. Out of the 41 million who have served in the U.S. Military, the medal has been presented to only 3,519 service members who went above and beyond the call of duty.
This week our seniors were paid a visit from Medal of Honor recipient Gary Littrell, a retired US Army command sergeant major. One of only 60 living Medal of Honor recipients. Sergeant Litrell, while serving as an adviser to Army of the Republic of Vietnam's Ranger units during the Vietnam War, acted with extraordinary courage during a four-day siege on his battalion. He and his wife spoke to our students about his experience and how the six qualities of character shaped his life.
We will be closed Monday in honor of Veteran’s Day. Please take a moment to thank a veteran for their service and reflect on the sacrifices that past and current veterans are making so we have the freedom to do what we do everyday.
Rah! Rah! Cougars!
