🙌 Jackson - Horne Lake Caves
Jackson visited the Horne Lake Caves and did an amazing caving tour. Some things that he learned included:
- “Karst Landscapes” are formed by limestone and made up of sinkholes and underground caves.
- Limestone is made from millions of years of tiny sea creatures settling at the bottom of the ocean and turning into rock.
- Be naturally made
- Fit a 6 foot tall human being in it
- Be deep enough that no light reaches in
He saw lots of cool features in there, including a “flowstone waterfall” of calcite, the result of the calcium dissolved out of the limestone depositing on itself very slowly. And on top of everything else he got a ton of exercise! Thank you for sharing your adventure, Jackson!
🏃♀️ Finnley and Dax - go go gone!
Finley and Dax both represented PIE at the Island Zone Cross-Country Running Championships in qathet on October 23rd, 2024. They both ran personal bests on their race courses.
