From Parents:
- Shout out to the third grade team for having excellent communication with parents!
- Ms. Rodriguez has nurtured my son's love of writing and reading. Over the break he's written in his journal and we've gone to our local library to check out books that interest him. We've discussed story elements as he's read. Ms. Aguilar is so very engaging when it comes to math, science and social studies. My son loves to share about what he's learning in Ms. Aguilar's class. He shared the little chants and sayings Ms. Aguilar uses in math. He will remember these through the years, just the way I do now as an adult from my elementary days. I'm so grateful LSRO has wonderful educators like these two who pour into not just my son but their other students. Thank you for all you do.
**Want to shout out a staff member in the Mustang Message? Email Danielle.Dillard@lifeschools.net with your shout out.**
If you receive a named shout out, you will receive Dillard Dollars in your box!
Life Habits
Every day we have Life Habits time that is focused on building social, emotional and behavioral skills. Each week we will post Life Habits conversation starters in our staff and parent newsletters that are aligned with the Life Habits lessons from the week. We will also have signs in the pick up line for parents to access the questions of the week. We want families to discuss what their child is learning at school.

Reminders:
- All outside exterior and interior doors are to remain closed and locked during school hours, this includes classroom doors. Classroom doors should not be propped, held open or kept from locking with a magnet or any other device. In the event of an emergency, we must ensure that all doors are closed and locked as quickly as possible. Placing a magnet in the doorway will not allow that door to close and lock.
- Never open a side door for anyone, (other than students) all visitors must enter through the front. Life School or The Oaks Church should have keys/badges to access the doors.
- Wear your badge at all times and check for badges on visitors. If you see a visitor without a badge, please escort that person to the front office to get checked in through Raptor.
The Texas School Safety Center will be conducting random intruder detection audits in all school districts. Auditors will make unannounced visits to test safety measures in place. Here are the primary safety measures that auditors will be testing while on campus:
All interior and exterior doors are closed and locked during the school day.
No visitor should gain access to campus via any exterior door. All visitors must enter through the front doors.
All staff members and visitors are wearing badges on campus at all times.
If a visitor is on campus and not wearing a badge, how long before they are stopped by a staff member and escorted to the office.
Remember, safety is our top priority, all doors should be locked and closed at all times.
