It's important to check in with our students regularly to see how they're doing and ensure that they're feeling supported. In this UEN Teacher Tip episode, Nicole Johnson shares four quick and easy check-in activities that you can use in your classroom to enhance student well-being and promote a positive classroom experience.

This episode of Students In Focus features talented students from Spy Hop Productions, Box Elder High School and Copper Hills TV. From local issues to personal stories, these students are using their filmmaking skills to highlight the topics that matter most to them.

In 2018, the Utah legislature voted in to send a statue of Dr. Marth Hughes Cannon to the National Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol. The completed statue by Ben Hammond resides in the Utah State Capitol until its send-off in the Spring of 2023. Dr. Canon championed women’s rights and she has been an inspiration to many women throughout the years. We meet Maya Mercer, member of Girl Scout Troop 914 to tell the story of how her troop lobbied the legislature to help send Martha Hughes Cannon's statue to Washington, DC.

This month GEGUtah Leader Deanna Taylor will be sharing some ways to combine Google with Nearpod to help your students engage with your course even more.

UEN has some great six-week courses open for registration right now! All courses listed below start on November 2nd and run for six-weeks. These courses are paced with a UEN instructor that will be there with you to answer questions and engage with your ideas every step of the way. Like all UEN courses, you can receive USBE or SUU credit for any of these courses.

UCET is doing its first edcamp in the Four Corners region on November 4th, 2023 from 9-3 PM. As always edcamps are free, open to all educators, and are designed to allow for great conversations about education and the topics all attendees want to explore. UCET has a great keynote planned from Computer Science Teachers Association CS Teaching Excellence Award winner and San Juan School District educator Ramsay Seweingyawma.
